CMDR LOG #1-2: 16 May, 3305
After CMDR HMM264DOC met up with me at Shipley 1, he realized that he completely botched his loadout for deep exploration. No SRV, no limpets, no nothing. Instead of flying the 1000LYS back to the bubble we decided to self destruct, much to my dismay. It was the only logical choice. Forgoing the Krait Phantoms we had initially decided to use, we decided to purchase brand new Anacondas for this expedition. So we made the appropriate modifications to our ships and plotted a course for the Coalsack Nebula.
Not much to see in this particular nebula except a very large O-type white star. At this point we decided to plot a course to Colonia en route to our ultimate destination of Sagittarius A*. Lets face it, after a really unfortunate planetary crash landing and our hulls sitting around 60% integrity, we could use a good place to repair and replenish. We used quite a bit of limpets trying to make the ships serviceable again. The things you find out the hard way, like if you use your AFMU on your thrusters, it turns your thrusters off for the duration of the repair. I'm sure this will not be the only hard lesson learned on this expedition. Even after a year of flying around there are still plenty of things to learn.
So now its off to Colonia. Stopping and scanning every system not yet discovered will hopefully break up the monotony of the journey, which has still been a very enjoyable event for the both of us so far.
