So I missed last week's comm run. Am I deterred? No. I've spent the last several days tearing the Hind apart. Two days ago I put the finishing touches to a self-contained package router that I can piggyback onto the power distributer. I'll be able to compose and send messages from inside the ship by modulating the power grid itself and using it as a local area network. Things is I need to get it installed and I can ill afford any more Witchspace EVA time now. My cellular degeneration is progressing too rapidly to take the risk, IF I can avoid it.
The good news is that there is a way to avoid it but it's not without its own risks. So, I'm currently waiting for the nav system to fuck up again and smack me into a star. The time for the FSD cool down, along with realignment, should give me enough time to attach my 'grey box'. Of course I'll have to work shadowside to avoid atomising myself, but that's a possible, whereas an acceleration of the cellular degradation because of the unknown rads in Witchspace is a certainty.
Sitting here then, drumming my fingers, waiting for a system failure to cause more damage to my ship. Fuck me, what a state.
