The sudden departure of Thargoid vessels caught us off guard after deployment to the Demeter class rescue ship in Harrigi last week. It gave Bloodbound Harvest a chance to do some good stress testing on their ships, and I'm not going to ask Deputy Squadron Commander Blue how in the nine worlds she managed to dock at Polya Station in a Beluga of all things and acted as a ferry without burning to shit, but I had to pay an exorbitant amount of credits to cover my end of the bet when I told her she'd wind up turning the Orphan into a match head.

To hell with the fact that Dictator Culinus isn't concerned with the Thargoids leaving all of a sudden, this scenario stinks worse than a rotten wound. With what's been occurring lately it would be dereliction of duty on my part to not do a bit of investigation. As far as activity out here nothing is outwardly out of the ordinary. They are still interdicting ships at the same rate as they have been since four months ago, I have jumped through this area to twenty-seven different systems and been interdicted four times. Luckily nobody asked me to steal any of their devices this time or it would be a recurrence of two months ago; no thanks.

What is strange is the fact that even if they fail to shut down your ship the Thargoids still tend to investigate, but after this happened they immediately left, by the time I turned around to get a scan they had deployed swarms and seemed to be in pursuit of somebody else. The kicker here is there was nobody else in the area unless they were out of range of Sigrún's scanners. Will return after ten days to see of this is still occurring. As far as why, hell I am no scientist. The only investigations I do are with the salvage teams so this is completely out of my ballpark.

As far as the data, I am going to refer any inquiries to New Republic R&D once it has been properly analyzed. Don't ask me for the data, as once I get home it's out of my hands; they will contact you. As of now I am heading back to base so that said analysis process can start. Orders still stand to keep patrols normal, but keep the AX ships on standby. Due to the amount of Guardian tech aboard Reightler Dock and our recent engagements against the Thargoids there is a chance we may have put Draguan Nu in their crosshairs, and another incursion can be expected in the future.

As far as why we got involved without any warning, when they are suddenly half the distance away that they were the week before and we have distress calls coming into our emergency channels only an idiot would sit idly and hope they don't get hit next. It is my choice where, when and how many of my officers are deployed to handle a situation. Thargoid attacks less than 50 LY away are rather high priority, and if Snider isn't okay with that it is something I will consider to be a personal problem on her part. I think she's just mad about that hull plate peeling off of Geirahod and sort of making an oopsie on the HQ tower. At least it only broke the windows and I already paid for it.
