Orang 2, Orang System
The flight from Lugger to Orang was somber, though the distance was not great, time passed slowly. More than a few moments brought a smile or chuckle, as thoughts turned towards Bandura.
We had met during our initial entry and indoctrination phase; for the Imperial fleet- too many years past. He was always a character; more than a few times getting everyone punished for his antics. Though a simple and gentle person, he served well, fought hard, and above everything, he made a difference in many lives of those- whom would never know his name. That he was set upon so, was an injustice.
Attempted requests for information, from the surgical facility, all met with the same canned response. "we can provide no information to non-family members." He had no immediate family. Those he served many years with, was de-facto his family. This appeal made no difference, as they would repeat themselves and then disconnect.
I arrived at Orang 2, along with the slowly setting sun. My ranch house was clearly visible, only 100m from the landing pad, where I gently brought my Cobra Mk III to rest upon. As I began powering down the systems, I could see a small collection of cattle, gently grazing not far off.
Getting up to stretch, I made my way towards the cabin, to grab my bag, before exiting the ship. The temperature was a pleasant 23c, with the slightly less than 1g gravity, feeling good on my sore muscles. The stress of the news made for more than a few knotted muscles. A good meal, hot bath, and a few shots of liquor, were on the list for this evening.
I could hear the "winnie and snorting" noise of a few horses, which were in the open barn, next to the ranch house. They knew I was back, and were eager to see me, and I them, though I had to get re-settled first. A new adventure was soon to take place; though I needed to get things prepared first.
