Broken MessIt wants me to update the launcher, when I install the exe it downloads, I launch and it wants to do the same thing again.


I had exactly same problem, I have resolved it by downloading an installer from the Frontier store (under My downloadable products).


Thanks, yep, just worked it out after seeing Sally's post. Took me a while to 'find the link' before I clocked just re-downloading Elite in my purchased products triggers the launcher install download.

Edit: OG FDev purchase, assume the problem is isolated to that version.

Third attempt: Black Adder.

I just noticed the main menu says I'm docked in Kanawas. I guess my ship was moved because Davy Beacon is burning.

This time I'm not going to watch the spoiler videos.

I was in for about 30 seconds, then another Black Adder.

I guess this will take a while to stabilize...

"Thargoid Maelstrom" sounds nasty...

All the carriers have disappeared from Hyades Sector FB-N b7-6.

Interesting, my FC was one of them. I did assume we'd get pushed elsewhere most likely, but will see what happens when I'm able to log in...

Watched the (compared to early Elite FMVs poor) video, then loading screen with increasingly deteriorating fps down to 1fps, then CTD.

Sigh.

Edit: Re-producable. Great stuff.

Edit2: Third time in a row. At least it's consistent.

No thanks to Frontier but a rando on the forum managed to fix this by using the new reset/recovery option under help in the main menu. In case others are facing the CTD issue as well.

Hint:
There is a reason why they added a key for shutdown field neutralizers.

@Sakashiro, a reminder - > if you are in FAoff when hit by shutdown field you keep your speed momentum, else you are sitting duck.

Oh , FK , if you have same problem as me - go to main menu HELP - STUCK recovery

Good news! I was hyperdicted twice and got away. Thargoid still slow.

And now the bad news...


The Adder's shield strength without those SRPs is 41, lol. Need to be careful now when docking...

Anyway, I found a station and repaired the ship before anyone could find me and finish me off.

Now the question is: Do all Maelstrom systems destroy Guardian modules?
