I want to control the size of pictures in my biography.
I tried something like this, but without success:

You know I wondered the same and did some research. Ended up in the API... The short of it, it's broken. Since the Explorer Medal is based on the Codex data for your character via the stats page that shows Visited systems, Level 2 and Level 3 scan data. That said, no one seems to have been able to make sense of the values applied from the forums I've seen and read. Documentation seems poor on this too. I've only got a week of play time and there is no way I've done 13K planets. It use to be per planet but speculation is a value has been set per planet type. That isn't documented and I'd have to scan each planet type, size, etc to get comprehensive data to see the value change each time.

Thank you because you confirmed what I already suspected, actually at the moment it is not possible to understand how the points are calculated, I did some research too, but you can find almost nothing and from the various scan tests I have done, it all seems a lot confused. Thanks CMDR, 07

Adding further to this. I just handed in about 20mil in data which included some first to scan and first to discover. Didn't move my listed level 2 or level 3 values at all in the codex. So now I'm curious to when this stat updates.

EDIT Looks like it takes about 6 hours for the stats data to update. Added about 1K points to my original stats. 4 Earth likes, 3 amnonia, 6 meta-rich and 2 high metal planets were probes. Honked 72 and FSS each. I'll think of a way to get proper values and post it somewhere.

According to what you just said I have launched the FSS and DSS on 10 heart like world and I have increased by about 300 points. I personally can't find any logic in scoring

I haven't gone DSSing in a month but my number of Level 3 scans keeps increasing. Near as I can figure just using the FSS gets you points. My current theory is that it's still 1:1 and counts Stars too considering how little scanning I've been doing yet it keeps going up. I look forward to any research done on this.
