Silver TafferHi Slinky, welcome 07
Do not open fire until your scan has completed and labelled the target as ‘wanted’ - even if security are shooting at them your ship needs to confirm wanted status or you will get an ‘assault’ fine or a murder bounty
This is outdated info, at least for Horizons. Frontier fixed the bug where you would get a bounty if the ship was wanted but simply not scanned. I have confirmed this many hundreds of times in Horizons, if the ship is actually wanted, you WON'T pick up a bounty or fine for shooting them, even if your scan is incomplete. For new players, probably still good advice to hang back and simply ping the ship periodically while security wears them down to keep them from aggro on you, but just figured to mention about the bounty thing.

Strewth, when did that happen? thanks for the update 07
Mind you, I’ll probably still carry on scan-completing out of sheer habit

It's even worse when you realize that plentiful of reviews in game magazines/sites are made without even playing them in the first place. And I wish I was kidding on this one.

Easy to discard absolutely anything you say when you come out with mad tinfoil hat rubbish like this. If you've got a problem with a review because it doesn't fit your outlook, it doesn't mean it was paid for or the reviewer "didn't play it", you know.

This is usually how the press work. Some will try but most will just get others' opinion.

Huh? Most of the corporate awards and reviews are fake. We either buy them outright or it's a case of "trading favors". Very little of what you see is real and why would it be? There are profits to be made and you need to be kept in a certain mindset to open your wallet.

Mad tinfoil rubbish? You'd like to read this. I am not saying everyone does that, just that plenty of people in the gaming industry do. Not because they want to cheat people, but there's no other way if you are told that review is to be done for proverbial yesterday. I was in such a spot myself as a freelance copywriter... and that's all I can say about it due to legal binding.

I just would like to add that this article is not true and it's just a some kind of not very good satire. But, that of course doesn't rule out such behavior may not be happening in the industry.

Now that's interesting and that I didn't know, because I pulled out the first example from the Google. I stand corrected on bringing the wrong link, but doesn't change my own experiences on how unprofessional you have to be in order to fulfill some ridiculous deadlines given by the company.
