Synthya WylderActually, from doing a bit of research sometime earlier, the Cyrillic alphabet is based on/related to the Greek alphabet.
Yet still they differ a lot. Don't know why. Language research isn't my best. :p

German, Russian, and Romance languages use the Greek word bibliotheca in their language (in German it is Bibliothek) but English uses "Library" which is from latin words such as liber (book), librarius (relating to books), libraria (bookstore). Considering that English is a Germanic language, this is kind of peculiar to me. There are other examples such as using "Umbrella" which comes from the latin umbra which was later the Italian ombrella, rather than something like "Rain Shade". I've been widening my knowledge of the hows and whys behind common languages and how they were formed lately and was surprised to learn this.

Romance sounds like a fun language to learn.

1 of the side benefits of doing research when I was coming up with & writing Synthya's Bio; specifically, on languages & how they came to be & evolve. Take the Phoenician alphabet, for example, which evolved into what we know of today as most of the modern alphabets, Greek, Cyrillic & Roman among them, all related, however distantly.

I watched a video about what English would sound like if it returned to its Germanic roots, & ditched all the other language borrow-words & influences.

Thanatos au GrimmusWhich is one of many reasons why English is one of the most difficult languages in the world to learn.
I very much doubt that.

I'm super excited to see what they have. I'd love to see how things will look precisely in VR but that probably won't be covered until the alpha is out. I know it won't be VR native but I'm still planning on trying to setup a control scheme that allows me to not have to exit VR for on foot stuff. Hopefully the projected screen uses a curved design with tracking similar to the title section for Elite instead of the flat one on load.
