Sorry if this has been asked, im sure it has, but is inara Ranks and Reputation not updating correctly?
There's some stuff missing from my profile that were there a few days ago.

Could it be related to switching between odyssey and horizons?

Cheers

Yes, Horizons is cutting off above-Elite ranks and also a few other things are missing in the game stats (and thus journals). Importing your Odyssey session will bring it back.

I have also noticed that some things do not update properly if you are using EDMC. Every few days I run EDD and check to see if my auto updates are running on INARA.

If you want to play odyssey but you are a console player, then follow these steps to do that without having to start from scratch and have to learn the new controls with just one disadvantage! Step 1, Buy a gaming PC fit for elite dangerous. Step 2, buy elite dangerous odyssey and the other content (like horizons and beyond). Step 3, transfer the data from your console to the PC. This is VERY important. Step 4, link a controller from a console to the PC (it is possible). Step 5, play the game! You may have completed some of these steps already and you may have some bugs, but o7 and I hope Frontier can fix these bugs. Plus, the disadvantage is smaller screen.

You are aware that FDev is planning a console transfer, i.e. for a certain period of time, console players can receive Horizons on PC for free, the commander will be copied almost almost completely from console to PC?

Where do I disable the Ukraine propaganda advertisements on inara?

CMM.StanfordWhere do I disable the Ukraine propaganda advertisements on inara?

Please report them via the "Report ad" link below the advertisement. I am blocking the creatives serving various political and similar ads based on that (I've blocked a couple just today).

Current consoles are cheaper that mid-range GPU alone. If you want to buy PC in price range of Series S or even Series X, then you won't have a machine to smoothly run the currently released games, which is countering the point of having PC in the first place instead of just gaming on the console.

We already had that discussion so many times I start to think it's a troll post.

Imagine buying an high-end PC for this POS, then realizing no matter how much i's, RAM, or XXXX GPU numbers you throw at it, it'll always be an unoptimized POS.

I dont think there are many people that buy a PC just for this game tbh. If anything, the main thing about PCs is their modularity, customizability, and market for games and components alike. You can go pretty cheap and have a library full of games easely. Consoles dont have that. The intital investment is vast yeah, but the investments after are not much more then what you spend on a cosole and its games over a 5y span for example. Also dont forget the optimisations and downgrades of game gfx and Ai are also kinda.. sub-optimal, but optimised. Personally i prefer PC over console, even if i have been a plastiation lover since i was a lil kid. The wide range of modularity and customisation is just way out of the console's league with PC gaming.

I prefer Keyboard and Mouse (Trackball). I can't stand the toy controllers that are provided with Consoles, I can't play with thumbs. I have many games on console where the level attainable in the game is limited solely by having those clumsy thumb-hat controllers. I imagine you can fit a console for K&M. but still . .

Personally I can't stand trackball and much prefer a mouse with a tail. I think most modern consoles have enough USB ports for some peripherals like kb+m though I don't keep up to date on that stuff really. But I don't mind controllers unless precision aiming, scrolling, or similar is required... or if there is a lot of menuing... or if a game has thousands of keybindings needed for decent play. It seems like there is at least one of those games in existence... hmm...

To previous comments: if affordability is not an issue, I feel a PC is always the better choice. If money is an issue then obviously get what fits more within your budget and accept that it will most likely be less ideal. Fun can still be had. If a game comes out on console and PC, I always get the PC version.

I'm not sure why diehard PC players continue to push the narrative that consoles (Xbox in my case), would even begin to pay as much as a PC player (especially in the 5 year span you suggested). You can get an Xbox Series S for $299, a Gamepass subscription for $15 to receive over 600+ games to include all Xbox first party games Day 1. What else do I really need to buy outside the one or two third party game a year. This is not even comparable to the PC I just priced to be able to play current gen, ray-traced games at a smooth 60-100 FPS. With consoles, after about 3-5 years, there will be a mid-gen hardware upgrade and I'll just sell my current Xbox to offset the price of the new one. Most console games come with graphics and performance options, just like PC and its the responsibility of the developer to optimize their game for all the platforms they release on. I'm an avid simmer on PC, but I've also switched to console since MSFS is quite stable for a console that supports mouse, keyboard, controller, hotas, and pedals (for not even a fraction of the sim peripherals I paid for PC). So yeah, let's not get into a $$$ war. You're not convincing someone that games on both platforms that gaming on PC is substantially cheaper. It's not.

Good luck with the price of that modularity and customization when you've got to upgrade pieces of your rig to maintain the status quo!
