Elite: General talk

But the mass probably also still has an effect, seeing how you have to be really far away from a Titan and then some distance from its surrounding caustic maelstrom(yes, I did that on purpose) to be able to engage supercruise or high wake out, though it is likely simply due to the cloud. Anyway, think it’s just simplified/severely reduced at a planet for the sake of gameplay.
And speaking of - the barnacle matrix sites have an odd, really high mass lock factor to them. It goes above 40(some say they’ve seen 50), and extends to about 15 kilometers when in my Phantom(other ships may be more/less affected). I kind of wonder what’s causing them to behave like that.

And for the same reason it's harder sometimes impossible to fire up the warp bubble while it's too close to anything. The trouble is, another small vessel does not has that much of a mass lock factor. so even if their proximity pluck us out it will going to be way too close to comfort and the dropout going to be way too violent.

MinonianA.G.DuranI have another question. WHY the FSD have 5 km distance with capital class ships and stations, but 2 km with the whole planet? it actually should work around 40 km with planet's mass corrections (gliding area altitude is already suitable point). Only above you're cleared to go.
Just what she said, for safety reasons. To lessen the risks for accidents and disturbances warped space can create. Not to mention anything moves in war speed. I don't think it's healthy to low wake into anything.
Well, such massive object as planet will masslock you the same way. Go away at proportioned distance to enter supercruise or it won't work.

Right, the warp bubble cannot build up and collapses anywhere near of a great mass.
And about Thargoid Barnacle matrixes? i don't think it's about colonization, did you peoples noticed it's about the same shape and size as a Titan? Soon our troubles going to multiply.

MeowersDownloaded Elite yesterday, to take some screenies. For the first time on the new machine that I bought a few months ago. Guess what I saw almost immediately? A bug, of bloody course! Apparently, a) shoulder decals are obligatory now, you can't go without them, once you select 'nothing' in the menu and return back, they reappear, b) if you wear onlyan airtight underwearbasic flightsuit, without any cosmetic items, they float in the air. For the moment I thought I'd miss this game... Nope.
You know what else is back? The bug that renders fog/smoke outside the ship on top of the pilot's hair inside the ship. Had not seen that for a while. I guess they're slowly rolling Odyssey back to pre-alpha stage.

The non-TLDR - Frontier rushed an alpha out as a full release while claiming that it was an older build(and ‘beta’ on top), and that it wouldn’t be so on the release date when told by player testers. Low and behold, it was, in fact, not an older build.
It took them a while to patch up that mess, thanks, shareholders and management. A hole that Elite, to my knowledge, has not recovered from.
