WarCat72Tell me, what book do you think I need to read to better understand Anarchy?

Certainly not one by Joe fucking Stalin. lmao.

Try Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell. Yeah, that's right. The dude that wrote 1984.

Isaiah EvansonTalk about edge. Tough guy over here doesn't want to crack open a few books. That's cool.

Do you like vanilla or chocolate?

Is that your standard fallback position? Call a person a book licker because I wouldn't ask you to educate me?

I have these books on my shelf in my office here at home.
Proposed Roads to Freedom (1919) by Bertrand Russell
Anarchism or Socialism (1924) by Joseph Stalin
In Defense of Anarchism (1970) by Robert Paul Wolff, this one I have read more than once. It can be a bit dry at times, but it was an interesting read.
The Coming Insurrection (2007) by The Invisible Committee
Anarchism: A Marxist Criticism (2011) by John Molyneux
Immigrants Against the State (2017) by Tom Goyens

Tell me, what book do you think I need to read to better understand Anarchy?

History of the Makhnovist Movement by Peter Arshinov
Homage to Catalonia by George Orwell
Anarchism: A Collection of Revolutionary Writings by Piotr Kropotkin
Anarchism and Other Essays, My Disillusionment in Russia & My Further Disillusionment in Russia by Emma Goldman
The Bolshevik Myth by Alexander Berkman
Anarchist Individualism as Life and Activity by E. Armand
Libertaria by various authors
An Anarchist Manifesto by Kurt Zube

Those links are filled with literature written by anarchist and anti-state authors, discussing virtually every topic imaginable.

But you won't bother, I'm sure. You seem the type of person who has their mind already made up.

My default response is typically to engage in conversation, which is what I'm doing here. You came in with the tough guy act and made the first assumption about me, so... consider yourself fortunate that I'm still being civil.

Wow dude, you really don’t like being disagreed with. I just stated you didn’t know a damn thing about me, which you don’t. You keep making assumptions about me, which is making me think that you are as close minded as you assume me of being. “Consider yourself fortunate I’m still being civil” wow dude, pots and kettles come to mind. If you want to engage in a civil conversation then let us do so, or don’t. But don’t think your veiled threats of being uncivil mean anything online.

You threw out a book by Joseph Stalin to demonstrate your knowledge of anarchism.

This is hilarious beyond compare.

No... I said that I had read several works about anarchism, and Stalin's is one of them. Granted, his book was an explanation to his followers, specifically the Black Army, as to why socialism with him in charge was better than anarchy and therefore better for Russia. Considering that the Black Army originally wanted to overthrow the Czar and start an anarchist type of rule over Russia it seemed appropriate. You know something, Commander Evanson is probably an ok dude. And I will check out his reading list. You on the otherhand... you seem like a complete jackwagon.

You can also try some classic like Bakunin, Proudhon, Malatesta, Voltairine de Cleyre.
And more modern stuff like Hakim Bey, David Graeber, Subcomandante Marcos and about Zapatistas or Kurds. A lot of interesting books and authors out there really.

Why? Because I don't think Joseph Stalin is a worthwhile source on... well, anything?

If that's a "jackwagon" then where can I buy the t-shirt?

Why? Because he makes Marxism look like a very bad idea?
