Taking a break from ED for a CP2077 anniversary playthrough.

I don't even see the glitches. All I see is blonde, brunette, redhead...

At least the frame rates are better than EDO's.

Yes xD

I also recently revisited it. Reminded me that it's a damn good game. And it has the best weapon in gaming history.

Us, Xbox Series owners, still waiting for Performance mode for Cyberpunk 2077. Game is hard-coded to 30 fps, which simply hurt eyes after over a year of flawless 60 fps. This is the only reason why I didn't get that game, too.

Um. I played through CP entirely on performance mode on X-SX. Not sure about the S.

Edit: Looks like S is capped at 30. Pretty sure CP was pushing that $299 console hard, lol.

To be honest, there are better looking games keeping stable 60fps without any issues. Not to mention Series S is way stronger (three to four times from what I recon) than Xbox One X - the strongest console from the last generation.

Also, there is no official patch for S/X yet. That's why I think it might be Series S loading One S version of the Cyberpunk 2077, because there are games that are more than capable to run 60 or even 120 fps on Series S without issues. It's just patching they lack as they were released for previous gen. But developers don't really want to cooperate with Microsoft.

The only major option Series S is lacking is 4k AND 60 fps at the same time*, compared to Series X - aside of smaller storage space and lack of physical disk drive. I don't have 4k TV or monitor either. I must rely on better mobility/size of the device (Series X is heavy and bulky), so that was another reason why Series S choice prevailed.

*Actually, there is bunch of games which do so, a slight correction here.

Edit: Of course, the Series S is mostly aimed at people who simply can't finance into gaming. Series S is my step on from original One -- because even now I can't own a reasonable PC to play new games. Xbox Series X and PS5 have horrible high prices where I live, sometimes going twice as the advertised price due to shortages. I know people who turned away from PC gaming to Series S, because they simply couldn't afford upgrading their PC anymore... Holy crap, that thing is cheaper three to four times than a reasonable gaming GPU that won't go obsolete after two years - at least over here.

CP77 is a VERY poorly optimized game. It really is a shame that there isn't an S/X next-gen patch for it yet. Unfortunately for me, unless they come out with some good post-release content, I'm done with it. Loved the story and honestly, it was mostly bug free for me. I think I encountered only one game breaking bug. I've also put 107 hours into the game. If you can stomach the 30 FPS, I'd say go with it. I'm not sure how long you're going to be waiting for a next-gen patch, and even then, there's no guarantee that it'll be patched to try and hit 60.

As for the SS being stronger than the OX, I don't believe it's that much stronger. Not 3-4x anyway. The OX is most definitely a 4K capable system that shined with GPU intensive games rather than CPU intensive. Jaguar was a HUGE bottleneck for the system.

Either way, the SS is a GREAT machine for the price. If you put it and gamepass together, the generation should be a fairly cheap one for you seeing as Sony is charging $70 US for 1st party games. I'll be grabbing an SS for my bedroom machine. All things considered, you made a great decision to purchase it. It certainly runs next-gen games better than my 2016 PC rig, that's for sure.

CP2077 is still buggy as hell. The current patch has the NCPD issuing arrest warrants for no apparent reason. You're just driving along, minding your own business, and suddenly you're wanted and all the cops and drones start firing at you.

I would say that it needed a year to cook, but it's been a year, lol.

It didn't happen in the version I played last year though. They are replacing old bugs with new ones.

Talking about bugged game on a forum, dedicated to another bugged game. It's... a concept. A decadent one.

Video game development appears to be the biggest engineering challenge out there. Too complex for human minds.
