I think he has some similarity with David Icke.
Governments would have figured it out on their own even without Orwell.

Governments are not made up of the best and the brightest. Most gov emp. are borderline useless. Original thought, efficiency etc are completely alien concepts to a typical gov critter.

Recently, some guy accused me of defending dictatorship. I didn't really get what he was on about. He was grinning at me in a really stupid way, and when I didn't respond, he started talking about the one true model of democracy. So I started laughing and told him if he had ever heard of any nation in the history of humanity that actually had democracy. Before he could reply, I shot back at him, saying democracy is just a pretty word, and in reality, it's a utopia and will never exist. As it happens, I run a discussion forum online with a few thousand people. Not everyone likes me there. Sometimes I have to be really tough on people, but it works. I asked him if he even knew what real democracy would look like. If all those thousands of people were admins like me. How would that work? It would be a disaster.
