Yeah this has gone how I thought it would go, but that tutorial mission was goooooooood. That gives me hope. Completely changes the feel, almost made me a little emotional.

i actually had a lot of fun. i skipped the tutorial after dying at the shooty bit. framerate was quite trash but it was ignoreable. the cutter looked amazing. i made 2 videos part 1 is still uploading but here is pt2 https://youtu.be/-SGTHhY5M0U

To be fair. After the initial problems I do see some improvement in the performance. I just noticed that some of my settings were changed but when rolled back to what I had during alpha I have like +5-10frps boost here and there. Still it is too dark - if Frontier do not fix that I hope some 3rd party tool will do so.

Stations look a bit better now, some of my bugged paintjobs are fixed. The commander customization looks a bit bugged.

There are bugs that we've seen during the alpha , perhaps they had no time to address them.

Yes, and my Imperial Eagles pre Odyssey have come across fine with my other ships.

Bugs aside for a minute, I really enjoyed my 1st look at Odyssey.

The hyperspace is very pretty, the stars more twinkley, as are the ship graphics.
I was nice to be able to walk around the ship exterior in the hangar.

The music is better too, and l likes how it changed as different places in the starport were visited.
Even music in the turbo lift!

Started to on foot tutorial and that is looking good too.

Elite was ahead of its time when created many years ago and I could never have imagined what it could become. :-)

Well, from the little bit I saw so far (as I was mostly struggling with trying to restore my Horizon looks):

1) Faction symbols for your shoulders are no longer a thing. Empire, Fednecks, Alliance, pirate factions: All gone. Only the unlocked Elite ranks are now available.
2) Alternative colors for the uni-colored Remlok suit are gone. It's black or f off... (I'm not completly sure, but: Didn't I have to spend ARX on that pure white Remlok as well?)
3) Said shoulder symbols? They don't stick to either the Remlok or the overcoat properly, with the latter being the worst offender.

Everything is more twinkly now. Odyssey has some issues with anti-aliasing that Horizons didn't have.

All the flat and vibrant ones, including black, white and grey, were free, at least for me. I bought a few extra ones though, will try them later.

Like I said: wasn't sure on that anymore. Either way: losing option is never a good thing.

Well I downloaded over night, and jumped in this morning, doing the tutorial mission - no real problems. No stuttering, no frame rate drops, graphics as good as can be expected. Quite frankly I think Frontier have done a good job (shoot me here with Remlocks) - easy to play, looks great and wow it is now The Biggest SPACE sim on the market, WITH LEGS...

All you Nay Sayers- SHUSH!
