DJ_MegaI have the strangest bug right now every time I auto launch my ship from station I automatically end up at the exclusion zone 5klick away. as soon as my ship leaves pad I am teleported 5 klicks. It is Scary and freaks me out every time it does it. already reported it. just a very sphincter tightening thing to suddenly shoot 5 klicks in 1/10th of a second.

Does it mean that you can do crimes, punishabled by death, such as horrible landing pad loitering, but keep yourself safe from punishment? :p

as soon as I come off the pad in auto launch at orbital stations I instantly teleport 5 kilometers away.

SakashiroThey realized they need a roadmap for publishing the roadmap.

The roadmap needed a couple of bugfixes first.

Exigious and Yamiks are already taking that "roadmap" apart on Yamiks' stream... and that comment by OA in that thread implies that he's not happy on this either...

I think that at this point, even when FD will release absolutely flawless thing (either a piece of communication or a patch, update, whatever), there always will be somebody looking for a stick to beat a dog.
Fortunately, anybody can make his own informed opinion about the current situation and doesn't matter what somebody else is saying...

It's mostly about this paragraph:

While we are expecting to see specific and targeted performance improvements in the upcoming June updates, we are also aware that development work for console will allow for even larger performance optimisations and enhancements for PC too. Therefore, we feel the best approach for all our Commanders will be to focus our development efforts after Update 5 on performance and the console release, and to bring our multi-platform community together once more, which will also allow us to bring even more global optimisation changes and updates to all Elite Dangerous Commanders.

It reads like us PC players will have to life with the bad performance until the console release...

With the patches outlined, I personally read it as: "We will make the situation and performance stable, solving all the FPS drops and slowdowns in those patches, but there will be further performance improvements after that." At least that way I perceive it from: "...Each of Updates 3 to 5 will be of a similar size to Updates 1 and 2, and contain fixes and enhancements to the overall Odyssey player experience, including incremental performance issues for specific circumstances and/or system configurations...."

This makes a lot of sense from a project point of view. You can't polish something until the paint has dried.

It's a very functional beta. Simple as. I'm having a blast on my 6 year old rig.

This frontier cannot admit as they already sold it as finished product. But then community stamped them with "early access" which is the truth.

Yeah completely agree with you there and I'm fine with that.

I think it would be better received it they just called it a beta or early access outright.

Nah, it means you'll be the beta tester for the necessary optimizations to run it on console.
04 Jun 2021, 7:09pm
Yeah, Yamiks, Exigious and Pilot who joined later also said this. And then added "If they had said from the get-go that us PC-users will be the beta-testers for the later console launch and sold Odyssey's PC-release as such NOONE would have complained!"

I don't get it either why they didn't just slap "Early-Access" on it. It would've reduced the salt by 95%. Even for the unreasonable price of 30 bucks.

Well, if they had labelled it EA then that would have hurt sales and would not be in the best interest of the shareholder = lawsuit?
