KurakilI've been spending the last 30 mins trying but it won't load me in the game. Orange Sidewinders are eating me alive.

You're saying they don't have any backup, reserve bunch of hamsters to power this thing up? Looks like situation is worse than we expected...

Orange Sidewinders, ship in main menu remains in low LOD, can't open the Social submenu, exiting the game ends in black screen. Amateur hour at FDev again.

Haven't experienced any of that myself, fortunately. Unlucky for those who are.

I'm just getting improved FPS, better lighting, more user-friendly map screen and my jacket colours are fixed

It seems they published a different set of files to Steam. Validating the install from within FDev's launcher reportedly makes the game work. Trying to confirm this now, but validating all those files twice takes a while...

This workaround was posted on the official forums and seems to be getting a lot of confirmed replies:

SOLUTION FOR STEAM USERS:
Start Launcher from Steam
Launcher Options-> ED Cache disabled!
Launcher Options -> Validate Game Files (NOT FROM STEAM, FROM ED LAUNCHER!)
Launch Oddyssey and play
