BurstarIn your case you didn't actually earn any notoriety for that single kill.

I did.

No, you didn't.

You know you're clutching when you have to use FDev as a resource for facts.

What source would you prefer? Facebook?

To be fair notoriety on foot is basically a fraction, something like 0.3 per kill so if you kill 2 people you will have 0.6 which would be displayed as 1 notoriety but dissipate quicker than if it was actually 1.0.

So might just mean that you went over the edge with that kill from <0.5 to >0.5.

So both of you are right in a way

I think they are run by a Thargoid drone, so yeah.

No, it doesn't work like that. In your example you wouldn't reach 1 notoriety. It wouldn't happen until you hit the 4th person. At which point you would have 1.2 n

I think the influence reward for BGS is still reasonable.

You can get influence rewards for a lot easier missions.

Yeah I really don't like the inability to mission stack for ED:O missions.

I know I've said this before but... I stopped trying to make sense of anything in this game a long time ago. Every time I think I figured something out, I come across something else that negates it.

I think what's happening there is that settlement kills add some 0.x to notoriety, but the effective total (to be displayed and used to block interstellar factors) gets rounded up to the next integer. And since the decay rate is always 0.5 per hour, it only takes a few minutes for this notoriety to go from 1 to 0. Ship kills on the other hand add 1.0 to notoriety, but only if there's already a bounty on the ship player, i.e. the first ship kill is basically free. The first settlement kill apparently isn't.

Okay, I'll apologize. I was wrong to say you weren't getting Notoriety from one kill. In my defence I've done countless missions where things go sideways (read: had to clear the factory before one of them got the alarm off) and have always returned to the ship with Zero notoriety unless I went ham and annihilated teh base. It bothered me months ago so I looked it up way back then and that post answered my question. So all this time I've been getting notoriety and it was wiping by the time I returned to the ship...

Edit: I'm seriously floored by this. I routinely kill both engineers in the Power Centers when the mission allows it. So much simpler. Months and ignorant!

It has been inconsistent for me. Sometimes I get (short lived) Notoriety 1 after a single kill and sometimes it takes 5-6 kills and lasts 1-2 hours but still just Notoriety 1. Each time I started with 0 notoriety and no carryover from previous kills. I've never had more than 4 Notoriety from continuously wiping out bases.

So.. the only "life forms" unable to scan are bacterium, tussock and frutexa. The common ones. Atleast for me. But the rare tussock thing i am able to scan. I am still frustrated because before the update i was scannig bacterium ones where there was only one bio signal detected on some planet. Such a quick "scan and get out" thing. I hope i'll hit the elite rank after spending long time in deep space because this is the last one I have left. Then I will do some role play.

At this point I just feel ignored, that's exactly what I have said.
