Burstar the Magnificently MediocreJust a reminder, Arthur can be quoted almost a year ago as saying "We honestly thought the game was ready".

I really wish I could have been a fly on the wall to observe their development of Odyssey and see how they made decisions on it and what made them think "the game was ready."

Well, if you've been in the software business you can make a fair guess how it was.

A company makes a successful product and decided to expand. In the process they put key people from initial product to new projects. This brings issues with the competent people who were left such as: more work due to the lost expertise, additional burden of training new people, etc. This inevitably leads to some people leaving the company all together. At some point the decision makers are replaced with people who have no clue of the history and the culture of initial team but they are pushed for results. This leads to very unfortunate practices nowadays: outsourcing work for the cheapest price possible and selling Minimum Viable Product (MVP) as premium polished and finished thing.

The customers then start complaining... (This is where we are currently. I can speculate further but you probably getting the idea)

All this I totally understand and would have predicted. I just think it would have been more interesting to see their actual thought process and development efforts unfolding in reality right before they released it. What they saw in the product that told them it was ready, etc...

I've been holding off as there seem to be more and more surface gameplay related bugs these days.

Anyone experiencing excessive CPU load in stations while sitting in ship?

Why would the location you are using your computer in influence the CPU usage? Magnetic singularities?

GryphnnMagnetic singularities?

Nope. FDev 'optimisation'. Make the load at stations heavier, so the load in settlements could be seen as 'lower'.

I noticed it in U10. The CPU choke that happens at the start of a ground CZ also happens when passing through the mailslot sometimes. Never happened before.
