They are bug developers, not game developers. Cut them some slack.

At least they're professionals in something!

Burstar the Always on Time for Dinner
Daddy O But the rest of the gameplay is totally badass since they patched it all.

Disagree.

The lighting is still bad, they haven't fixed the anti-aliasing, FPS is still well below Horizons performance and BGs framerate has plummeted for me this patch. The 10 second freeze at start of them is still there too ofc.

I see some shadowing issues, but otherwise Odyssey plays well on my system. I am running a Vive2 Pro and it looks...stellar.
And you really cannot compare it to Horizons. It isn't an update...Odyssey is an entirely new galactic browser. New software versions always have higher system requirements. Frontier just did it at a bad time (due to the profound shortage of video cards, bitcoin mining, and a pandemic.)

Screenshots taken using Ultra default graphics setting, same resolution, same station pad. The differences are clear to me.

Barfitty

Note while it has purty dashboard lights, the visibility of station details is greatly diminished. This translates to everything. You can't see squat while flying unless it is under direct light. Also, the AA is broke (look at the white semicircle under the mailslot to compare). Not to mention the barely existent smog. It feels like watching a Star Wars movie with a burnt out LCD panel bulb.

Crashorizons

You can prefer Oddity all you want for its sterile, much too high contrast, poor/zero AA visuals wrapped up in a lower performance package if that's your thing. I for one see nothing laudable in its poorer visuals or performance cost. Don't even get me started on the cookie cutter planetary bodies.

Also, you understand that your willingness to spend thousands of dollars upgrading your hardware just to compensate for their shitty coding is why game companies think they can get away with it right?

Agree with Burstar. Also avatars still look better when rendered in Horizons.

At least the bald head still can't amplify the light.

Is anyone else experiencing the 'Outfitting Error' when trying to install multiple Heatsinks?

Update: resolved, this dimwit interface was trying to 'install' the module that was stored on another station, has nothing to do with Heatsinks in particular.

As if Frontier removed half the lightning and environment layers because no machine will handle their poor code. This is also the reason why the game have extreme contrast in Odyssey.
