Daddy OWhen I fight Thargoids, I'm the one who usually goes BOOM at the end.

Shameless plug.

Can I see it live? No, I am kidding. But I would like fight against thargoids with someone advanced. I am preparing for solo medusa soon. Just need collect some materials for synthesis.

Join our Discord and we'd be more than happy to have you tag along during one of our 'protecting humanity' runs. Also, we have a Finance Friday event you can show up to in basically anything with a Thermal Vent Beam laser and decent shields and earn beaucoup credits for literally doing nothing but watching the show (not really, you need to tag the goids and GTFO in the unlikely even you agro them. Tip: don't have any valuable data stored as you will almost certainly die at least once, but even if you're in a 1bill credit cutter you'll make your rebuy back np).

Episparh the BluntTry not to use your G5 gear and try to get to g3. For someone who just starts on-foot stuff it is better to get one of those. Even G2 is massive difference and finding a G3 maverick with useful mods is like god mode compared to basic pilot suit.

Really not that hard to go from level 1 to level 3 Mav suit. They'll need the following...

6 Suit Schematic - PWR and CMD building
6 Health Monitor - MED, RES, HAB buildings
6 Power Regulator - just abandon a shed load of restore missions and keep the PRs. They basically cost 100K each.
6 Manufacturing Instructions - farm a crashed satelite mission, just keep relogging till you have 100s.
20 Carbon Fibre Plating - RES buildings, harder to find so the bar tender will be needed to barter some items.
20 Graphene - RES, HAB, CMD, AGRI buildings - similar to above but a lot easier to find.

You can drop on-foot materials on the floor, so a more established friend could just give you the materials needed. Or do on-foot missions with a friend (if the net-code gods are feeling so inclined).

The Thursday post-server-bounce station hopping certainly works, but it's not much fun. If G3 gear is found then by all means use it, but don't invest upgrade time into it if it's got the wrong mods on it. Use it in the short term but put the materials into the correct mods, and if that means upgrading G1 gear you don't use initially then it'll help you in the long run. I made that mistake early on and have two sets of most things, all grade 5, some with the right mods and some with mods that aren't ideal.

That looks like a lot of work if you go just with - G1 Maverick, Aphelion and P-15. It is not as local inhabitants will be happy if you loot their lockers. Even if you choose to go the legal path with restore power, those will have 50% chance to have welcoming party of scavengers.

And I am not sure how long you haven't played on foot, but relogging is no longer a thing.

Going to some outer region of the bubble and spending hour or two in Apex can give you very good head start.

Just bring your wallet as some of the G3 gear with mods usually costs 2-3 A rated cobras.

Kill the scavs with your SRV. It's cake. Sometimes they glitch and get stuck where they are dropped. Then you play Bowling For Scavengers! Good fun.

Mate, do I look like someone who needs advise on ground combat and missions? ... from someone ranked as rookie.

Wasn't providing advice specifically to you. Just making a comment. No need to be rude.

Looking at your Inara rank and Merc level I could see why someone might think so.

There's no need to punch down on people, and certainly not from your average position.

Just for the record: Inara ranking includes stuff such as: essay writing skills, photography skill, how long someone have been into a squadron and other similar stuff.

With that out of the way, I am not sure how you see that as punching. We are discussing suits and then someone comes and shifts the topic to SRV commenting directly my message as if I need advise. What you suggest, to pat him on the shoulder and say "Thanks! That is great advise I will make use of it"

I don't do any of the things listed there and I'm ranked 31st, so I don't think you are correct on that one. I don't know the entire formula but it's mostly Elite ranks and medals. If those items do have a value I think it's so low that it's not held me back.

It was just in reference to the mention of how scavengers could be dealt with. If you use an SRV you don't need a hand weapon or armour. It was a valid point from a newer player than yourself. His comment had value, your response did not.

You corrected me on the satelite relog, which is fine, it adds value to the collective conversation, you only being Elite whilst I'm Elite V doesn't make your comment invalid, so someone being a Rookie shouldn't come into it.

Oh, Aunty, you definitely forgot what is required to build maverick with night vision or Executioner/Tormentor with audio masking.

Although SRV and ship bombing of scavengers in empty settlements might be useful it can lead to fatal mistake of someone thinking that this can be applied to active settlements.

As I said, material gathering for basic G3 gear may look easy to you and to anyone with sufficient gear but definitely it is a lot of work for someone who have just G1 equipment and have no on-foot engineers unlocked.

Running in concourses and using APEX to travel between station may reduce a lot of that initial gear grind, not to mention that some gems can popup.
Example: G3 Dominator with Night Vision, G3 Executioner with audio-masking and so on.

And then again, you have a better mercenary rank. What it proves I will keep for myself
But do I look like someone who needs advice on ground combat and missions?

Thank you Auntie. You read the situation very well.

I'm on a planet surface right now, the first time since update 10, and I'm seeing some ugly texture pop-in. Haven't seen that since the alpha.

At least the frame rate is fine. Constant 60fps in the SRV and on foot. I'm not near a settlement though.
