When it finally works on PC. No announcements have been made yet as to when a release for the consoles might be. I will say that I have a new PC with a Ryzen 5800 CPU and Nvidia 3090 GPU. I flew to a settlement yesterday and it still kept going back and forth between "somewhat playable" and just a complete slide show. If my build is still struggling with Odyssey, consoles are going to have a much harder time. I almost wouldn't be surprised if by the time FDev is able to get Odyssey to release on consoles, it will only be because we have gotten to the PS6 and Xbox (what ever they will call the next gen).

I'm confused. What do you mean I have to say goodbye to Elite Dangerous? Also Starfield is going to be an entirely different game so not sure how the connection is drawn there.

Also on a side note, I can understand frustration on the console players side since not only was Odyssey released on PC, but additional content has also come out since Odyssey's release. Such as the new SRV. So it does seem more and more like console players are just getting left behind. IMO the new SRV is kind of pointless. Personally I think it would be better if FDev strictly focused on making Odyssey work properly across all platforms before adding more content. No point adding more content that's not really playable while the core is still broken.

I say to myself that I will say goodbye to elite dangerous, I will wait for the release of Starfield, I think it will be a good project. Unfortunately, I won't wait for the odessey add-on on the console

I'm cautiously optimistic about Starfield, but I won't preorder. Not after Fallout 76.

NagualArhomel I say to myself that I will say goodbye to elite dangerous, I will wait for the release of Starfield, I think it will be a good project.
It will be a Bethesda-made space flight RPG with a scenario, quests and ending. A completely different game. No matter what you do in between, Dragonborn will always have to kill a dragon.

Controversial opinion: Elite Dangerous is like a Bethesda game, except there's no story, all the quests are radiant, and grind is multiplied by 1000.

Valid opinion too, I just like to play those 'sandbox' games without a scenario. And I think there's many people who like the same here.

Also, procedural storytelling has yet to be invented. This is the one thing we might never see in a videogame.

I can't say that I'm the least bit interested in Starfield. It looks to focus on 3rd person aspects, which I absolutely will NOT play. I despise any and all 3rd person stuff.

All the previous Bethesda games could be played in either 1st or 3rd person perspective. I think they'll stick to that formula.

I thought it was awful. Looked quite good but the combat was just wrong. I regret buying it at the price it was on release - flew twice and dumped it. Once to learn how to play and once to see if combat wasn't as bad as I thought it was the first time.

I won't buy Odyssey, though, as it seems they are not interested in properly implementing VR.

has anyone noticed the walk and run speed has decrease ??

I have also been getting crashes in both steam VR and Elite dangerous odyssey

I wish they would fully support VR in odyssey



Running Reverb G2 for my VR
and Thrust masters Hostas warthog Joystick and throttle, and TPR rudders
using Xbox elite series 2 controller for on foot

Yup. Used to be able to do 7.5m/s and now it's like 5-6 not including the jump nerf.
