ZEN IndustriesI see you are both Elite in Ground CZ... I'm not ... And I wrote that for those who will try ODY ground SZ's for first time Sorry didn't intent to insult anyone.


Fun fact... I've done most of my ground CZs in the past with just a G5 Executioner far before I got any notable mercenary rank. It is just a different tactics: You get high ground and support team NPCs and move and hide if focused by the reds. Moving targets are a bit tricky on distance but practice when to hold and when to pull the trigger makes miracles.

Sometimes (rarely) only problem is finding ammo and yes couple H-CZ's you can buy non discounted Cutter, couple hundreds of them you can buy a carrier. Shame I play on ground only for BSG... and since it's quiet atm, chasing to help LYR power, so no credits earning, only spending

for ground combat the TK Aphelion + Karma AR-50 seems to be a good combination, even high cz you can easiely rule with them. i like to go straight into combat, no sneaking around, and yes the npc´s need a ki upgrade, they are just to easy to kill. im only doing ground action scince a few month, cz since a few weeks. handling is very easy to learn and if all is running smooth it´s making fun. not like a classic standalone shooter but ok to play. the fps are not so bad that you can´t play ground cz. i reconized the location (size and daytime) is also relevant for fps. on daylight settlement fps are higher than at settlements / cz at night and smaler locations usually running better than the bigger ones.

Out of curiosity, I went to a high intensity ground CZ last night (with grade 1 gear) and earned only about 5M.

but 5M for around 15 min. action is ok i think like Meowers wrote 9-14M is normal for a high cz. usually around 13-16M every high cz if you doing fine.

Depends. I preferred to fight NPCs and kill them, as if it was your usual first-person-shooter game, but 'tag, damage, repeat' method could be more profitable. Or spawn-bombing. Anyway, it's all about what do you want from these CZs.

one time the npc´s stuck (was a bug) so i was able to kill them all bad guy 28M was payed, the highest payout i get from a high cz mission..
but if i remember right some npc´s shoot from there stucked positions with long range weapons.. so i didn´t kill them all.. maybe 30M is the max payout.

Well, to collect 60-70k x5-x6 per 2 shots you will need to apply grind else you are forced to stick to the rules of a tag-before-kill game similar as with stock sidewinder in a High CZ in newbs' district.

... btw Finding upgraded suits and weapons are not so hard nowadays if you do not hunt for specific engineering mods. And Grade 3 is like +50% boost. Just head to some remote system with 5-8 stations and do the local shopping tour with your trusted APEX pilot. The systems that my FC is located in is a good spot with 5 stations. Then the routine is simple - load your favorite show on tv/streaming/podcast , check shop , bord apex , repeat.

Any gun recommendations? I like the Manticore stuff because plasma doesn't require switching guns all the time. But I guess I might be better off with a thermal/kinetic combo after all.

Plasma FTW! ....unless you go the dumb rocket stuff for effectives.

For sidearm - Tormentor. Always!
For primary - Executioner for mission running. It works also in CZ but you will need practice. For CZ you either go with double Intimidator combo and run amok Duke Nukem style. There is middle option of the hybrid approach of Executioner/Intimidator.

And do not bother with Oppressor - it is pure trash.

Laser/Kinetic is mostly a PvP stuff , IMO.. Lasers are hitscan and kinetic is almost same, while plasma is easier to dodge even in close quarters fight.

I personally prefer the plasma because you need to "predict" the shot.

This is exactly the reason why I don't like Oppressor, the projectiles are too slow. On the other hand, I also hate constant switching between laser/kinetic. So for me the Executioner is the lesser evil from all the choices. I wish the enemies design would be more like the Destiny 2 - most of them are (or at least were back then) running shieldless, so you mostly need just one type of weapon and for the shielded/etc. enemies having another type is an advantage, but not entirely a necessity. It's more fun.

first i started with the executioner, used it long time.. realy nice weapon. with scope mod ´the perfect long range weapon´ but i prefer it without, more angle view. the oppressor have a good firing rate and much ammo but the projetiles are to slow and damage is to low, i don´t use it much at cz outside but for inside fighting (missions) it´s good (paired with a maverick suit), the range is also not so great. i prefer the laser kinetic combo for pure combat, both weapons with faster handling and reloding mod makes fun higher accuracy i can also recommend

Try Intimidator - the only weapon capable of one shot shielded targets thanks to the projectiles nature. The only disadvantage it have is short range and wild pallet spread which can be nullified by applying scope, range and accuracy. This will tightens the spread and makes it effective in range. I consider this a bug or a flawed design but it is here for more than a year and at this point I doubt that frontier even care to fix it.
