That's exactly how I have to run the game. Oh well. It's okay though. I bought ED because it's a space flight sim. I can live without walking around on planets and all of that stuff.

Speaking as a Dev and QA, Alpha launches are always a disaster. That's the whole point! You're not giving people access to the alpha to see everything working flawlessly, you want it to be horribly broken in creative ways!

Just one small thing... Although, Frontier named it alpha it is actually beta and a release candidate to be delivered in 2-3 months.
And its state is far from playable.

It depends. I gave it an hour, had just one crash after death, two cases of significantly lower FPS than desired, otherwise no major issues and just some rough edges and minor problems. So, from my point of view I agree it's not an alpha, because it's in much better state.
