It's playable.

Took an Apex shuttle to a surface base to check it out before I took on a mission there.

When I got there, surface temp was -74. Nobody was home and part of the f-ing place WAS ON FIRE!

Then I realized there was no Apex to book a flight outta there ........ 

Froze to death in ten minutes ......

Guess I didn't think that one through  ....... 

But it IS playable ....

You can recall the APEX from the quick menu anywhere (without a terminal/NPC), it took me a while do figure it out. There are definitely things that deserve some tuning and improvements, but generally, I am quite satisfied with it. Some things are actually better than I have expected.

You can book an Apex to pick you up from anywhere.

Just do not know how, as I am still playing with the binds.

Yeah, I found the Quick Menu too late.

I did have an early encounter with the re-buy screen, though. Nicely redesigned.

It's called "safe passenger transport". Or you prefer them go at full speed above the destination and then make a sharp nosedive to drop at 3km going down 300+m/s at 90 degrees angle against the surface? :p

Took on another mission. This time the surface temp was 579K!!!
I converted that to Fahrenheit but it didn't help.

Got a message upon landing that said I was missing a mission critical item.
I have no idea what it was. 

Got stuck inside a building and burned to death in 10 minutes. 

I'm 0 for 2, but I'm really starting to like this new re-buy screen.

It would be OK if I could get a refund every time they drop out of supercruise too fast.

Well, I'm back from work, so will finish exploring the station before I grab a taxi ride somewhere... too cold or too hot...

Damn, it is hack again.
Got two missions to restore power. Couldn't finish them because I do not have arc cutter. Abandoned - sold power stuff to bartender for 100k each ... now I have Maverick suite and arc cutter.

...Galaxy will be down for maintenance in 10 min!

Haha, on the frozen planet(moon?), the fire was inside a building I couldn't get into!!!!  

On the 500+K planet, I got into the building, but it was on fire TOO! Went to help a lady that was burning, got too close and caught on fire myself!!!

So, we both burned to death. I'm NEVER helping a burning woman again!

Copied all the Holo-Me sliders over to Odyssey, and this was the result (at high settings):



Shape seems identical, but the complete absence of specular reflection on eyes and skin (aka. "skin glow") makes the result look very flat and cartoonish. FDev might want to take a look at how CP2077 does this.

And wtf is their thumbnail renderer doing?
