HaraldsenIn horror films, the glorious suggestion to split up is always made at this point.
From a purely statistical standpoint, splitting up makes sense. While 1-on-1 vs the killer will certainly result in the kill count rising, the killer can only deal with one person at a time, giving others time and opportunity to escape. This assumes, of course, the purpose is to escape and not search for some tool or magic device that will defeat the killer.
In general, it is poor decision making after splitting up that leads to being killed, not splitting up.
MeowersSome horror (...'ish?) stuff like Tusk or Dead Snow looks like a comedy regardless. :p
Evil Dead II. One of the best Horror/comedy ever. Did not take itself too seriously and Ash was relatable as the dude who just wants it all to end so he can go back to living a normal life.

There may be some truth in that, but a concentrated attack in a group forces everyone into line, and then you also have the weaker or selfish ones with you, who would otherwise run away if they were left to their own devices.
But it all depends on the situation. And sometimes it simply helps to direct as much brutal firepower as possible at one target at the same time...

Glad to provide a bit of comedic amusement/entertainment, though.
