Simon DaturaExceptional Scrambled Emissions Data. I need lots, but I can't find any, anywhere. I've looked in Encoded Emissions and Degraded Emissions signal sources, scanned every ship I've flown by... Nothing.

It's supposedly common too.

What's the best way to get my hands on these bad boys?

I generally get more from missions. When I'm doing the rounds on the big ticket cargo drops, I scan for missions with materials across the whole range. Quite often they'll be attached to small value data drop missions.

I managed to find them in the end, funnily enough by visiting Encoded Emissions and Degraded Emissions signal sources. Turns out I just needed to be more patient.

Can anyone tell me where I could find vanadium? Note I do not have horizons yet so sadly.

All of the materials for synthesis can be found mining asteroids, but it's totally random what you're going to get.

How else can you get them?

The only methods that I'm aware of are a) outfitting your ship with a mining laser and busting up asteroids or b) tracking down blastable resources with an SRV. The former method you can do at any ringed planet (look for rocky or metallic rings); the latter requires Horizons.

I think I've been offered Vanadium as a mission reward once or twice, but it's not been common.

Vanadium -

Choose a planet (usually nearest the star).
If you want a guarantee be sure it shows as "Metal-Rich". Usually dark in colour.

[ Find Anything ]
Examine the System Chart / Planetary Data [select] / look lower-left for planetary minerals content % for best odds.
- note data shown only for landable planets.-

Oh - sorry , "No Horizons yet". man that is tough. don't know what about that.

Is there a difference between what can be obtained from single private compared to public data points?

Besides one you become wanted for a few mins and the other not.

Oh, are public single data points found on certain types of planets over others ?

I'll check the next time. Usually too busy running after dinging a private terminal but worth a look eh?

Do private single (not settlement sets) date points offer higher level, rare data?

@ ShimEnki Linoge

You may be on a new chapter for in-game resource details.

I know something of sites and routines for gaining certain things like Modified Embedded Firmware (MEF's) but I don't know if there is a book anywhere on exactly what data is available and where with regards to Date Terminal types & locations.

Now you've got me off on it so I will have to start tracking the finds.

Im really only on chapter 1 re data gathering.

I tried the settlement thing for mefs...YUK--no thx, done and done ..thats an entire game in itself!

So im hunting for specialized leg firmware---got 8 on one public data terminal

(Update) 1 for 1 anyways on a med security based planet for a public (no bounty) data point offering SLF
