Why would anyone even kill her? 10 million creds? I can get that in 10 minutes of trading and still have some woman get to tell her conspiracy...

I'd suppert her all day long, but I'm affraid I wont be of a lot of use, with my not-yet-entirely-modded Corvette....

Because the Empire has declared her KoS and some people really like the Empire.

They're likely gearing up to invade the event on the 29th. I have no idea for certain but I'm pretty sure the SDC ain't dead. No matter how many people want it...

Are other players involved "invading" the event, or are they "taking part"?

hey guys, i've been thinking of making a E:D guide, for no real reason other than to pass the time, if any one wants a quick coppy before its finnished, just gimmie a PM and a email you dont mind using, any email is fine, make one up then ask me, etc, i just need some finising touches, some extra ship info then im done

If they've genuinely picked a side, it's not an invasion, it's participation.

However I've seen enough posts concerning the SDC to conclude the most likely thing they'll do is come in and shoot everyone on site. It won't matter to them that the consequences of this event will likely ripple throughout the rest of the game, they'll be there purely to pick fights with other CMDRs. Nothing more. The fact it's Salome and her friends won't even register to them. They see other players, they see a target.

Now. I may well be wrong in all of this, and given the appropriate evidence I will gladly revise my impressions of them. But I have seen many a YouTube vid, seen many a Forum Post, and witnessed too many CMDRs either quit Open or the game altogether because the SDC set up camp in a system and obliterated everyone within firing range with no other goal in mind except to prevent those players doing anything in that system.

SonofMacPhistoFrom what I hear SDC has pledged to support Salome.

Bollocks. From what I hear they pledged to support whomever will reduce the risk of them being shot at by anyone who could actually beat them.

Have you actually watched any of Rinzler's YouTube videos?

I've watched some of them yes, but as a rule I'm not too into the who makes the video, more into the content of said video, and I've seen many people who have been ganked by members of the SDC.

I have found the content of Rinzler's videos to be helpful, informative and very funny.

But don't let that get in the way of your wide brush.

I say it as I see it. I liked the videos by Rinzler that I saw. But I can either say the SDC are a hilarious fun group based on one persons videos or conclude that many of them are self-absorbed griefers based on the majority of the others I've seen.

Again. If I get evidence to the contrary I will gladly eat my words.

You seemed to be implying that they're all shameless cowards who won't take on a fight that they can't win.

I'm not implying anything.

I'm saying that based on the evidence I have seen so far, that is the case from what I can see. Rinzlers videos are great. His dueling videos showcase great skill and I have nothing but respect for the man. However, they are overshadowed by the fact that other members of the SDC (and I'm assuming he must be a member of the SDC otherwise why else was he brought up?), seem to prefer being the secondary school pupil that bullies the primary school (kindergarten) kids and pretend they're tough as nails as a result.

I am NOT saying it's definitely all of them.
I am most certainly not saying it's Rinzler. (It could be, but I've not seen anything suggesting it's him).

I AM saying that I have seen more evidence that they get off on ruining other peoples experience than I have seen evidence that they're otherwise.

One bad egg doesn't ruin the whole carton, but one good egg doesn't mean I can ignore the fact I've found more rotten ones either.

People are too hard on SDC. I play Xbox so haven't had any direct encounters myself however we appear to have a "safer" environment. This is what I notice what comes with that, d rated ships without shields (because any idiot can out spin an AI Interdiction) . I have a 360k bounty and am hunted everywhere by so called "bounty hunters". But that doesn't stop me from hoping into my pathetically geared beluga to grind passenger missions.

In short, Elite dangerous without PvP and "griefer" players is a care bear sim city game.

We had some grief in Quincy today for the first time with manifest scanners and suicidewinders. And for the first time in this region of space it felt like a real game again. It adds risk, and it's not as bad as people make it out to be because smart players have multiple rebuys, understand the mechanics of the game and understand that there is no actual end game content in ED. So the disruption that PvP and the legitimate pubescent griefers present are your only opportunity for diversity in your experience.

That said, I feel badly for the starter players and the seal clubbing that happens. That's why I make it my personal mission to wipe out wanted players... while I harass the occasional endgame ship along the way haha.

There is a Endgame content. It's just that it isn't interesting for everyone.

Just as PvP is meaningless to others.

Everyone got different preferences.

If by endgame do you mean engineers? Done. Endgame ship engineered done. Power play? It's dead and a joke in its current condition. Exploration? Possible. I haven't done a ton on that area as it's not terribly interesting to me.

Not complaining, I love ED. I'm just saying once you have achieved the engineered endgame ship you are left with the option of pushing your Inara faction that you are not technically allied too lol.

What elite leaves us at endgame is a sandbox, and if you try to neuter PvP out of it you have nothing.

The end game is blazing your own trail. Making your own story. Once you've gone through the struggle of establishing yourself, the game really opens up. And honestly, without that struggle, the losses, the heartache, the "end game" wouldn't feel so real and satisfying.

You are so hilariously wrong. This is the kind of fake news people love spreading around the official forums - "SDC always run away from big ships and people that shoot back", which is the very opposite of what actually happens. 99% of our fights are ones where we're either outnumbered, or outgunned and we all run 2D FSD's so highwaking isn't an option.

Your remarks about other members being nothing but "newbie killing cowards" is also horribly misinformed. While some members do like to murder randoms from time to time, none of us ever kill newbies in small ships or starter systems, and all of us are more than capable of winning in the PvP situations you've described. I've flown with every member of SDC in outnumbered/outgunned fights and still come out on top, either destroying everyone or making every enemy highwake.

And if you'd actually bothered to jump onto the premonition discord (the one organising the defense of Salome and co for the 29th event), you'll find quite a few SDC members giving advice on loadouts and tactics, and we all assist in training sessions whenever possible (in all timezones). But keep spouting alternative facts if that suits you best.

If I see you at the 29th event, I will send you to the rebuy screen regardless of whether you have a wing or not.
