Ryan MurdocIf one side knows all the clues and the other doesn't, it gets frustrating quickly.

Then this is the wrong game for you. So much of the fun in this game is figuring it out.

Sir, not to sound rude but I spoke out in general. You'd be surprised how many people are out there oblivious to how exactly the BGS works to this day, despite all the write-ups and discussions.

As for me, I consider myself adequately informed. And most importantly, I'm not alone; a fact that is vital regarding the BGS as a whole.

Well, then let me rephrase. If someone is frustrated that they have to learn how the game works, they need a different game.

Formula One drivers get frustrated at not getting past their opponents, doesn't mean they should quit racing. If everyone did that there would only be one racer on the track. Frustration isn't a sign you should quit, it's something to overcome. If you quit everything that frustrates you, you'll never find a challenge in life.

They can also file bogus bug reports because the BGS isn't working the way they think it should.

Aesirgriefing in the game doesn’t exist.  Persistent manifest scanning, suicidewinders.  It’s all fair game.  Fly the speed limit and silent run with heat sinks.

Only verbal abuse qualifies as grief, the rest teaches us to fly better

Griefing exists. In short one can boil it down to the phrase Don't do upon others what you don't want to be done to yourself.

But some people are not interested in this and have no qualms to ignore some basic characteristics of human interaction. May it be in Real life or in a game, you just don't mess around with others just because you can. It's a sign of poor character development in my eyes and such people are not worthy of further interaction at all.

Thanks Ryan i believe we were both members of the same wing in question at one time, in addition to the incident above i was getting bored of the how the wing was one, pLayers of no experience running things etc. I went on my own late last year but just want to get back into a wing\faction to enjoy squadrons etc. I see you are progressing well as am I. Bon Voyage!
This game we have here is far more then a simple Shoot 'em up but some are treating it like it is nothing more.

Same goes for other aspects of the game though. Instead of pointing flaws and exploits out to the community so that they can be removed to the betterment of everyone, they are kept secret by some and used against your fellow (wo)man,  wrecking their achievements.

I realise this discussion is as old the game itself, and there be soon enough others speaking out against it.

My dear CMDR Humpster, I wish you the best of finding a Wing of people who respect yourself and others.

They are out there.

So, I am not picking on anyone in particular but as a player in open and private on occasion and solo more often than not, I grow weary of the rather constant  put downs of the solo player whether on FDs forums and until recently, here on INARA. Like, or maybe unlike, other players I work with people for a living, more to the point, I am a clinical mental health social worker that treats co-occurring patients, this means they have profound mental illness and usually moderate to severe substance use. At the end of the day, I want to fly, and have a sort of RPG/fantasy career path that I feel good about. I paid the same $$ you did and you play the way you want--I don't begrudge any of you the right to play the way you want. In fact, I am hard pressed to find the SOLO player waxing on-and-on with varying degrees of vitriol about OPEN play.  Just because some of us choose to fly SOLO more often than not, does not make us second class patrons, morons, lazy, or autodocking onionheads. Can we have discussions about whatever play style one chooses without the denigrating hyperbole? INARA, I have found, since joining a ways back, has always, generally, tolerated play styles with an emphasis on HELPING each other. Let's leave the sniping and snarky comments to the FD forum posters, and get back to being the tight knit community we are capable of being... Have your opinion, but try and put yourself in the other poster's shoes for a minute. Thanks, see you around the 'verse.

Literally no one was slagging off solo play.

But doesn't everyone feel better now. Ahhhhhhhhhh... Deeply exhale. and everybody is happy again.

Could be worse, they could've called you "carebears" Apparently that's a huge insult.

To each their own.

Have fun.

Expect trouble when going out looking for it.

Everyone should just stop being so damn salty all the time. (Or be salty one day out of the week)

Enjoy the game for what it is.

We all need to consider, though I admit this is way early. All of us that use Inara may lose Inara if Squadrons are the way of it. Think about it. We are a community outside of the forums. All these wings, even the one I, a member of would not exist without Inara. I don't speak for my wing here, I speak as a Inara user. we need to think about that. Protect it, even if we don't get along. I'll be a Inara supporter soon, but for now, I say to all of you, that we need to do whatever we need to do, support Artie for what he's provided, and all those that's helped Artie to make Inara the best. It'll be slow and may not notice it at first, but I worry it will happen. That would indeed be tragic to lose such a gem, as this website.
This may all be mute, or irrelevant, I truly hope I'm wrong. But if we are able to name a squadron, I propose having a tag that states [Inara- Wing Name]

Fly safe Cmdrs of Inara. Yes to you that sent me to the rebuy screen. I hold no grudge after 24 hours. (1st 12 is tough though. )

Sorry if its TL:DR

Oh man, I didn't think about that. I hope your wrong too .

I'm sure Inara will continue to flourish with the introduction of Squadrons.

This. Inara has a fairly strong RP/Logbook community that will continue even after Squadrons hit.
