Didn't CoR bait him into getting shot by their own station?

He gatecrashed the memorial ceremony at Serabrov and was taken out by the station.

That was just fake news (shot by station). He was not on board when that happened. However this time it was different, he had no time to prepare escape and so he is dead. (this new hunting him story is imo much better as that old about willingly destroyed ship)

Ha ha.... though in the novel his death was just part of The Club's grand design, since it was an "accidental" firing that killed Besieger (and, I suspect, a way to appease those upset by Salome's death).

I liked the "And some dude died...?" tone of the novel.

... I need to get myself those books.

You really really do.

Apart from Premonition and Reclamation, which others are required reading, if you get my meaning?

I must be one of the only Elite players who didn't care much for Salomé. Though I also don't care much for SDC. Honestly just indifferent to the whole thing, lol!

Right there with you.

Obviously anything written by the IWG and/or Marrakech Morgan!

Just kidding. I've only read Drew's novels myself, though Jemine can recommend others.

Tales from the Frontier, And Here the Wheel, Out of the Darkness, and Wanted are excellent reads.

Mostly Harmless is also quite entertaining.

Thanks, guys. I have a birthday coming up (and there's Christmas, of course, soon after) so I'll direct my family to get me the ones Isiah and John recommended.

The Drew Wagar books I'll be ordering this week sometime.

Since I've retired, I've re-discovered this thing called 'reading for pleasure'. Past couple of months, I've seen off all the Expanse novels and short stories, The Martian, a couple of Ben Bova books (wasn't impressed, read better stuff on here tbh) and I've just started The Dark Tower series. Again.

With a bit of luck, it'll all help to improve my own writing.

And with that, it was time for bed.

Said Zebedee.
