I know exactly what you mean, StrasnyLada. Not too long ago I found myself on the receiving end of an attack which destroyed my ship in less than ten seconds. I was very angry at the time, and vented my feelings in a private discussion group within this very site. I was on the verge of writing an open rage letter to my attacker and quitting the game.
Then, after I'd listened to the advice offered to me by my friends in that group, I gave myself a good talking to, had a glass of white wine and picked up my flight stick again.

Believe me... after a time you start longing for something to happen that isn't too tame.
Fly safe, and remember it's just time in a game so try to enjoy even the losses you learn from.

And that's exactly the point. Being anonymous and still being able to act, talk and behave like someone that has aquired at least a sliver of respect towards others shows that I have a matured and intelligent person on the other side, even if a discussion ends in "agree to disagree".

I tend to disagree there.
StrasnyLadaThe anonymity allows them to do stuff they wouldn't think of doing to someone they could actually see. And I speak from life experience here, since I was young and stupid too.
Problem is that those who act like immature brats have supposedly long passed that age. If I'd have a bunch of teenagers to deal with I would agree with you, but we're talking about so called grown-ups.
All that aside, I've had a moment of joy today. When I posted earlier, quoting a person in one of my replies, said individual (name of Phelbore) sent me a PM, asking politely if his post had offended me, and if so, why.
I replied that no offense was taken or ment to be going towards him, and we've had a nice exchange of posts afterwards.
This is the first time ever someone who is on this site tries to inquire first how I ment something before going all verbal and toxic on the open boards.
Now that I've experienced someone that can do that, I acknowledge that not all hope is lost.

Reminds me of myself about 20 years ago, when internet was young and I was much more naive and much less experienced in both - knowing people and English. .... I guess I should try to return to that point again.

Would be nice if one could. But only with the knowledge you have now and all the lottery numbers. You know, the ones with the really big payouts.

What does belong here:
- Questions, answers, tips and guides about ship loadouts, game activities like exploration, mining, combat and similar things that directly relate to the gameplay.
- Game technical issues and problems, if you are looking for a help. For the bug reports please head to the official FD forum.
- Discussion about "official" events from GalNet and community goals.
- Discussing player actions and activities, general topics about Elite community and player events, topics related to the game but also real world (like astrophysics and similar). Please post these to the "General talk" thread instead.
- Any off topic discussion, please post this kind of stuff to the "Offtopic" thread.
