Garlicswe were looking for some meta alloys. in maia, darniells progress there were no alloys on the commodities market list anymore. so i went to some barnecle sites. i wasnt able to find any.
are we not able to buy them anymore? and is that such abig problem to find them at barnecle sites?
I know good little Google Sheet that details all the known locations of Barnacles.

I was going to pose this question to the official boards, still might but I'd rather get input from you folks first since a lot more knowledge/experience seems to be centralized here.
I've just been fumbling around in the game since I got it figuring things out for myself as I went along which IMO is best when starting any MMO style game but the last 3 CG's really helped my war-chest out and I want to add/upgrade to my fleet into more dedicated roles now (I have parts all over the bubble lol).
So here is my question. Which ship is the closest "Upgrade" to the ASPX? From everything I've looked at it looks like the Imperial Clipper is the closest as far as Multi-role, combat and versatility which is what my current ASP does well but I want to turn that into a dedicated ship. I also don't want to go from an ASP straight to a Python for example. I want to really learn the ships as I go.

PS: I just got a DBX that I turned into a pure deep space exploration ship and it's awesome! 50ly jump range.

learned after the AspX a lot from the Federal Driftship, euhm Dropship.....Clipper is good too mind you...but the AspX will always remain one of the most powerfull workhorses....

AesirI know it's a bit of a hog with no real purpose in the game. But buy a type 7, and run basic medicines to outbreak systems and trading in for a python once you have 100mill or so.
Lol that's similar to the tactic I used to build up my finances during the last 3 CG's. I used my ASPX for the first round, I made enough to buy a T-7 and for the last two CG's I landed in the top 25% which really boosted my funding,
So now I have a Dedicated T-7 for cargo 296 capacity and no shields to make it interesting lol and a Dedicated DBX for exploration.
I want to turn my ASPx into a dedicated role, just haven't decided on what yet.
Which leads me to wonder what the next step-up ship should be. I don't want to go into the higher end ships yet because I want to really learn the mechanics of the vessel I choose. Plus it's starting to become a nightmare with all my modules spread across the bubble so consolidation would be a big plus.
