Well never stop dreaming those dreams for a better, less warlike federation. Even if those dreams are on the level of cockroaches to some ..... Until Hudson bites the dirt, I guess it's off to independent space.

NFC PhistoI heard there's this cool system called Inara with a faction called Inara Nexus that's making quite a splash for itself.

So I took a visit to the Inara system as mentioned by the Fonz over there, bringing a trade ship as my idea of helping . But if smashing the entranceway a few meters wider with a type 9 shaped dent by accident and scraping one of the large landing pads on trying to land counts as helping, then I guess I helped alot ..... Go me....

IN thanks you for your service and would like to inform you through a letter how thankful we are. IN also assures you this is certainly not a clever ruse to send you a repair bill.

Just a question, does it matter if I buy a ship at a non-Inara Nexus controlled station in Inara? I see that none of the Inara Nexus-owned stations have the ship I want!

No, it won't have any effect on IN's influence

Don't think buying / selling ships does anything positive / detrimental to the controlling Minor faction of a Outpost / Station / ground port.

If you seek to buy your ships cheaper, look for Li Yong Rui controlled Systems. You can get your ships (and I think modules, too?) at a 15% reduced price.

Mr. Hardy was always a gentle sort of fellow. It was Mr. Laurel who was a bit of a wildcat. Nevertheless, they made possibly the best films ever to be put onto celluloid. Why? Because they made you forget your troubles for a little bit. If a film can do that, then its a great film.

Additionally, Mr. Hardy use to head up north to Canada during prohibition so he could drink whiskey, so that must tell you that he had his priorities straight.

Anyway, nice avatar. Now I'll go back and not talk to anyone (safer that way).

Thanks for the replies, glad to hear it has no influence.  Will also look out for Li Yong Rui systems if they're nearby!

Quick lore/tech question:

I notice the orbital stations are generally "O'Neil" type (Like Babylon 5) and long-range "station" sized ships (like the Victoria's Song and Gnosis) all either rotate or have rotating sections like the Hermes from the book and movie "The Martian" (to use a recent example)

So - I always assumed the various non-rotating Outposts - and our player ships - were zero-g environments when in space. Until I came across something curious that made me wonder about whether this was universally true or not.

On a trip to an Outpost recently I spotted what looked like a "showroom floor" that you could look into from above. It had various small ship models like Eagles and Cobras scattered about as if for a trade show. And the look of it made me think that people would walk around to see the exhibits. Until I remembered - "hey wait - isn't this place supposed to be zero-gravity?"

Why would they lay out the place like that? Lack of imagination? I suppose it wouldn't hurt anything by being this way and having everything oriented towards a "floor".

But it did make me stop and question what I assumed. Is there anywhere to read up on this sort of thing? It's not terribly important to anything. Just curious.
