DarthjazzhandsCave walls? Sharp rocks? We used to DREEEEAM of having cave walls and sharp rocks!

Luxury. Growing up in rural Idaho, we bathed in the canals and dried ourselves by rubbing up against stray cows. The only reason that any of us learned to count was to keep track of the piles of potatoes all around us.

DarthjazzhandsMethinks thou art in the wrong wing, ya geezer We'll leave the light on for ya.

Sorry, no can do. This ol' geezer is quite vital to his current Wing, and he's not up for rent or sale

You'll may have to forgive my colleague and my friend CMDR Ryan here. He is quite protective. I am honored and humbled by your invitation, but I must respectfully decline. I am happy and comfortable and it is where I belong.

Best of wishes to you and yours. I have a feeling your wing will grow quickly and have many a good time and a Capital ship full of laughs on your journeys.

Allow me to share one of my all time favorite albums for those ungodly long LS's. Hutton Orbital comes to mind. Fly safe CMDR of Inara.

Classic!

I still have that gold plated CD.

Just havin a bit 'o fun with ya, Cmdr.

That's my entire wing, Marra. Give us a break, we're old! Respect your elders!!

I would, if you were my elders

I'm Gen-X and proud of it, with a childhood built on a solid foundation of Panda Pops, arcades, Wham bars and skipping ropes

Snarky, no respect for elders, gen X, ...Perfect Silverback material

GiyariI remember most of that too, and I'm only 26
Using floppy drives to store youre horrendous homework you wrote on the schools bbc micro, 5 channels of TV, not being able to use the internet and the phone at the same time (although i never had internet till i was 16).
Marvel's saturday morning cartoons, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and Transformers: Beastwars, what a show!

Those where awesome. I have the Transformer's Matrix Collection, Batman: The Animated Series, Galaxy Rangers, Robotech, Buck Rogers (ya ya you can laugh Kung-Fu Series, and of course Beastwars! Good thing I didn't buy them all at once. sheesh! No wonder I don't have a life.

Skyfyre70I remember a time when there was no internet, no cell phones, CRT monitors where a craze. Windows 98 was the best OS Ever! Gas was a buck. The only power windows you had was your elbow. You had to be in the house when the street lamps turned on. MTV played music videos! Before that was we had 5 TV channels. REAL Sat. morning cartoons. You didn't need a degree in engineering to work on your car. VCRs where $600. Calculators where (the cheap ones) where $300.
Geez Im an old geezer. I haven't reached the GET OFF MY LAWN! yet but I'm getting close.

Kids these days, have no idea. Their faces are glued to their phones texting to the person sitting next to them.

No, we didn't have dollars... and, for the record, Windows 98 was never the best OS ever, partially, temporally or in any other way. It was, however, considerably better than Windows ME!
Also, I suspect that the $300 price-tag on a calculator was because you had Texas Instruments whereas we had Sinclair Research...

@Ryan
Equinoxe, on ¾ output from the amp with bass dialed up. Had to dial it down because all the bottles in the shop started to make an alarming rattling clinking sound — not great when you're working in Oddbins... Oh happy days!

I see here a lot of Silverbacks-material

Did you stand in line for the original Star Wars movie in 1977... before it was labelled as Episode IV? Did you order Pong from the Sears catalog for Christmas? Did you waste endless hours on your new Atari 2600 the day it was released? Did you stack quarters on Ms Pacman at the arcade to show your place in line? Did you watch the Planet of the Apes TV series when it originally aired? If so, then you're a Silverback. Welcome home.

Win 98 is just my opinion. I blame my age, so there! An abacus was better than ME! lol What a mess that was.

I think it was Texas Instruments! WTF?!!

Thanks for the laughs everyone.

Ahhh... Sir Clive! Had he won the BBC contract then it would have been his machine upon which our glorious Elite would have first aired (possibly, caveats abound, are huge, and far too long to be aired here).

If my back was inclined to hirsuteness then I dare say that it would most likely be of the silver variety. I am a Lord of Midnight though, a follower of the Singleton and not a devout Brabenite, although I am of the Shinto mind on this one: they are not mutually exclusive. Ergo a LoM I must remain, for now.

Q: Does Brexit mean someone who played Elite but now plays Star Cit.... urk... hmmeeeee...
