son of khzvoltzholey moley, have you seen the new AX weapon?

what do you think it'll be? some sort of torpedo weapon?

All the new AX weapons are nifty and whatnot, however I can't shake the thought that the mycoid stuff the Inra had come across would be really useful . Maybe mycoid could be loaded into torpedoes or missiles and nicknamed " Bug-spray" .

I have an awful feeling that the Thargoids, being as bio-techy as they are, are probably immune to the Mycoid virus by now- at least the original strain.

The Presencea +1 shortsword, that'll put the fear of God up the Thargoids

isn't It in the lore that they have a hard time adapting?

also, Agies probably know that and are developing a cannon that fires large pills which would cause something similar to caustic

<ahem> Never mind, I used Discord instead. It was meant to help someone quickly enough.

I got shot with "Hazardous Material" by some Imperial Navy ship.  WTF was it? I hope not fungus.

Greetings Commanders!

I'm here to just ask a few questions about shields. I currently own all 3 big ships but would like to condense this topic down to just shielding on the corvette alone. I currently have 7A prismatic shields engineered with grade 5 heavy duty. I then have all my utilities as shield boosters ( the highest grade). Of those shield boosters all but two are heavy duty, and the two that aren't heavy duty are thermal restistance. My shields are around 6600 MJ with about 35% thermal resistance. Other resistance in choosing to ignore as they are above 50%, and I only play pve. I'm wondering, is there a better setup I could go with that would give me shields that are better and even more unstoppable than the current ones I have. This would include also differences in engineering upstages. For example would thermal resistance be better on the prismatics than the heavy duty and make my shields better overall. If you have some time please let me know your thoughts! Thanks!

Bi-Weave- If you get lucky you'll end up with 4 times the regen rate. Whether its a high number/resistance or regen rate they all equate to the same thing, be sure to have SCB's stacked as well with heat sinks. I see what you did with that build but having a high shield and being able to come back from damage sustained are kinda one and the same, only difference is power draw and overheating which will affect modules.

Peace Cmdr 07

FYI: I have 3200 shields and with this kinda set up I can handily take on 8K shields and win.

What engineer mods do I use on the bi-weave shields. And also what engineering mods do I use on the shield boosters. And one more question, does this build require the use of shield cell banks or can I get away barely using them?

Thanks!

Oddly enough my lvl 4 reinforced was and still is better than any lvl 5 role I've had-Can't tell if luck or lack of. But reinforced.

Boosters I use a couple heavy duty and a resistance augmented one with another thermal resistance booster. The rest are heavy duty. Up you how many you go for based on the next thing.

Heat sinks, I usually have 2/3 on board depending what im doing. PVE it would be just one or two. These are to use when you want to launch two shield cell banks and recover quickly but not get too hot.

Shield Cell Banks: I use 2x7A-2x6A-2x4A all on the same ship but with only two active at a time chosen to reduce heat build up.
So I use a 7A and also a 4A in conjunction with a heat sink. Takes me to 120degrees but nothing too bad with the heat sink. Once you run out, you change which ones you have active.

It's all up to you though but I would just say that this kind of build has a "just in case of pirate" element built into it. Made to last.

Not sayin my way is better by any means, it's all about trying different things but this works nicely for me.

Thanks for the feedback/information! I'm tempted to switch to bio-weave now!

I was doing some messing around with those shields the other day. Wouldn't it be more beneficial to use thermal resistance modification of the bi-weave shield and then drop the thermal resistance shield booster for a heavy duty shield booster. Essentially giving you the same stats, except without the negative stats applied to regeneration that the heavy duty shield modification gives you?

hey guys o7 my group about ready I have 12 ppl in my group. I have a idea for a logo but idk how to make one a friend told me to ask around on here that I mite find someone to help me make it and help with my lore. I have a lore somewhat but I wouldn't mind help with that ether

I guess the whole Mycoid missile/ torpedo idea is tainted now considering Inra screwed over not just any Jameson, but THE Jameson after testing it . If we ever find out first-hand how effective it is against a thargoid, there will be the nagging thought that someone central to the pf was backstabbed in the highest order .

Also, did the deployment of the mycoid require a human pilot ? Was this task too complicated for an AI or drone pilot ? There's not much of a risk of a drone going whistleblower on you if your concern is never being discovered . Or there was a perfectly valid reason and I missed it and I'm being a moron .

When you want the job done right while minimizing any possibility of technical failure, you send a ship flown by a human pilot.
