Yep, I do that too in turret mode - steer on the throttle stick, shoot with the sticky stick.


*insert obligated 18+ joke here*

I have a hotas... I'm not overly fond of it.

I know I'm in a minority though. I just really love my XBOX Elite Controller, it does absolutely everything I need it to.
Only thing I found better on the hotas was finer movements, sometimes, but other than that I kinda feel like I wasted money

Well, it's a stick that is like a stick, as opposed to a throttle stick.

Interesting. I control the turret with the stick, throttle with the throttle and drive with the 4 way hat.

Thanks G, what extra does the Elite Controller contribute though? I've not worked that out beyond that you can have flappy paddle extensions.

Well on XBOX, the paddles let you map different buttons to them, making it possible to keep your thumbs on the sticks at all times, which is useful.

But on PC, I use a program called ReWASD to map the paddles to keyboard keys (numpad 1,4,3,6), allowing them to be used separately. I have two of them set to lateral thrust (something playing with controller kinda lacks usually), and the other two of them mapped up with the context control scheme to give me an extra 24 actions, on to of the possible 72 I already had accessible from my controller. In fact these days, I only touch my keyboard whilst playing to alt+tab to chrome/discord, for communication, and to access the free camera for screenshots

Any tips for a new hunter? I'm currently flying an Eagle (The beautiful "Reaper" )

Make sure your target is wanted before you shoot. Just because the authority is shooting at it does not mean you will not be charged with murder if you shoot before your hud shows wanted.

Drew Wagar's novels are worth a read.

They are Reclamation and Premonition, respectively.
