PhelboreNow... it's confession time. I just got my first friendly fire bounty in a long time, pure stupidity on my part. I use voice attack, locked a guy in a wing of two, gave the voice command to attack my target, then switched (before the command parsed) to his wingmate who hadn't yet been scanned so my fighter attacked the not yet scanned guy. Oops... And purely my fault.

True that. I also wondered about making combat capable ASP Scout at some point, but that would throw up a price being over 300k what could be risky with left 3 million credits. Decisions, decisions... I like Viper to be honest due to its size and capabilities when winged.






Keep the viper, it's honestly not a bad ship at all and you'll work out how to deal with its problems. The asp Scout is alright but it's nothing special. It has high manoeuvrability but low speed, and it's big too, meaning although you can spin about, you're going to get shot at and hit fairly often. The Diamondback Scout might be a good plan though. I'd save up for it and kit one out, they run super cold too, which means you can get a bit creative with your weapons

Another option is to start some engineering! With 3.0 on the verge of going live, it would be the perfect time if you've not tried it out yet. An enhanced range FSD will do you no wrong on a Viper, especially if you're out and about with friends


The DBS was my preferred ship when I was starting out. I found a great early multirole ship with great maneuverability and line of sight. It punched well against similar ships and I used very extensively for BH with no issues. UNtil I got a Python, it served me very well. Meh, my 2 cents, anyway.

I recently exchanged my Viper IV for DBE, but there's a thing: I only have three hardpoints right now, one of which is Large however. Yet I realized there's something off and quickly realized there's no large Railgun, just large PA. It became actually problematic, since for a few days I used 2RG-2MG Viper IV in HIP 20277. However, 1LMG-2MBL passes the job too.

The major upside I like the most is the fact I don't fly a fat drunk pig anymore.

You should give the Plasma Accelerator a chance, they wreck things in no time, and personally, i think they're more useful on a quick ship than the Railguns.

I'll reconsider it once I'll hit the safe amount of creds enough for pretty expensive LPA. I also tried PA on my Imperial Eagle but got rid of that in fear of hitting NPC Agents (not Authorities) by accident. What happened on a few occasions when a full-speed Agent's Medium/Large vessels cut the way between target and me.

But in all honesty, I prefer instant hit to slow projectile.

The PA is for close up work, not long range sniping. Also, you can engineer it's speed up quite a bit with the long range mod if you have that engineer unlocked.

Today, I grew to respect Sidewinder Mk I as a ship. Not telling why as I am during writing a novelized version of what happened today. I can only say that was one of the most exciting planetary scan missions up to date.

I stripped the weapons and armor from mine, installed enhanced performance thrusters, and fly her every time I feel like enjoying the simple act of flying for the sake of it.

Could someone explain to me how community events payout works? Do you just get the money associated with the percentile you were in? Or do you get the payout for your percentile (Top 25% for instance) and the percentiles below that as well? So Top 25% + Top 50% + Top 75%?

So then why do the top ten (for the current goal) get less than those in the Top 10%? Granted yes I know there are 6 days left for the event so those numbers change.
