I update Inara via ED Market Connector.. but that process seems slow. How long does it take for Inara to reflect my materials count? Seems ot be lagging.

SirGamblerGuys,im just disapointed on exchange rate, the work behind the few Moments and there is infact a reason im still playing.Dont know how people read and understand what i write,im not writing this to be destructive, and once again im trapped on pushing words. The excangerate is just some of the stuff i feel important too focus on for all of us.so we can focus on other stuff and not make grinds and materials to a main huge event in game..

guess i fall for my words,on theres a ED forum for such....

The most intriguing stuff lately brings out suff the game is hiding and i ended up watching the full length 2 hr post on Youtube on some guys struggle with ED,and makes their own story, and infact that they learn as they go,they are good but not ignorant,Including aswell.A perfect arouse,Cant say Thargoids, guardians or other stuff have made people exited like that,it looked like everybody whanted too help.
A basic sidewinder does not get any where in simliar level, where the real game reveal itself at some of its best sides,i said SOME.

Well theres a point there, where you have too leave "space-romance" and casual spacing behind, grind or be focused, thin line where the diffrence is greed too what you need and how much time can i see infront of me on  before i could be a asset.Pointless log on log off and other stupid stuff is what 90 % of us have done to get there, like another vid i watched on material, where top tip is Davs Hope and serverchange for 2 HOURS.Its just a essence of other socalled tutorials. Not skill or game Quality

im not greedy but playing up to whant the game expect if u whant too have a great ship, and its not made on romancing your way throug the stars picking up random stuff, its often left with a bitter taste when completing 1 module, not a exited moment as it should be In A GAME.

Allright,i belive im ready for the Crows, pick it appart

Enjoy

Haha, I get you man. I myself grindered the shit out of the game to “play the space romance” inverse to “play the space romance until you get the ships that you want”. Having dumped tons of time into this game I am under the conclusion that the 2nd point, that which your complaining about; is the way to go.

I am an objective based player, and after slamming the limited content of elite a player once told me to play casually and “write my own story”

Applying that to myself Rockin trade routes in a T6, or crushin Cz’s In my Vett: I feel that this is essentially the same game.

I identify with what you are saying, about the immense amount of hours needing to be invested into elite to accomplish “endgame” goals. However I would argue that this isn’t what the game is about in the first place.

This is a conclusion I have reached after immense hours invested hahaha.

I honestly believe that this is the quintessential write your own story sandbox game, as it really doesn’t change much from sidewinder to cutter.

Unless you PvP, In that case start grinding

It lags on my ship config as well. I made changes to my ship weapons and it never shows up in Inara. I gave up on it.

found this: "Please note that the updates are not realtime and may happen just on certain events like a session start, FSD jumps, dockings in stations, etc."

FYI if you start EDMC after loading into your ship it can miss the session start data and will only update that data once it changes.

I often forget to start EDMC before loading into my ship.

Every API request is performed immediately. If something wasn't updated then it means it wasn't sent to API.

It'll only update if you submit the log your rep for them changing was in or if you were running a tool submitting info at that time. That data isn't in the journals except on change, consider updating your profile by hand.

James HussarI do find you irksome though.

You could always add me to your Murdoc List.

Not THAT irksome.

I think 'irksome' is a pretty good word to have in your vocabulary, considering English isn't your first language.

You know, in various forums where Elite Dangerous comes up, there's always a pretty sizable chunk of people whose first complain is that it's hard to play, followed by the complaint that it's boring. I don't get either of these. I started a little over a year ago. Played my share of Wing Commander, Privateer, Freespace. I figured out how get started within my first sit-down with ED---no YouTube videos. Of course, there ARE plenty of videos to help folks out, and I've taken advantage of a few as I felt the need.

So, to the "boring" contention, I can't help but ask them "what the hell do you people do with LIFE?" Seriously. Life isn't a series of deathmatches (well, except driving in certain cities, in which case it's Deathrace 2000). LIFE IS A GRIND...if that's how you live it. My philosophy is that I don't live to work, I work to live. So, yeah, often my JOB is a grind. But I'm always mindful that my evenings, my weekends are where I really enjoy life. So, ED is a bit like that. You have complete freedom to engage your "career" however you wish and recreate when you want. If absolutely NOTHING in ED is recreational to you, then you damn well picked the wrong game. Go play PUBG if you want mindless arena play where the only thing you get is some putrid poultry entrée. I see Elite Dangerous as the space equivalent of Second Life. If you're just 'playing', then I'm sure you'll get bored. It should be experienced. You don't HAVE to role play, but it definitely adds to it.

In my opinion, it also depends how much people played Elite already. There is no surprise if people after hundreds of hours spent in the game feel bored. Although Frontier is improving the game with each update without any doubts, I think it strongly needs a fresh air (adding new ships, weapons and enemies, while the core mechanics are simply the same or slightly improved is not simply enough in the long term).

I am having high hopes for the space legs, it opens so many new possibilities! Boarding, recon and salvaging derelict ships (or saving survivors, repairing the life systems, etc.), many options for on-foot missions (non-crime and also crime like taking/rescuing hostages, spy/hacking, heists, attacks/defenses and so on), getting another options at stations (for example getting better paid missions of the desired type, when you will contact the NPC in person), including new mission/quest types that can happen purely at the station, pimping your ship interior and cabins by your liking and so on. I wouldn't mind if the (more decent and lore-friendly) version of Warframe meets Elite there.

The thought of pulling off a heist aboard a cruise ship gets me excited.

In my opinion, Elite:Dangerous can't be considered a AAA game until you can take selfies in it.
