Sampi Ogonek (Alas, settlement layout is another piece of information not available to Inara.)
The only addition I would make to the informative post I snipped the above from is to recommend the Odyssey Map Guide (aka OMG) created by Cmdr Quizengine. It has every type of Odyssey settlement mapped, categorized by type (industrial, agricultural, hi tech, tourism, military, extraction) and, most importantly, the location of the alarm console and power regulator. It shows the security level needed for all doors internal and external, and gives valuable information on how to obtain level 3 scans from unsuspecting NPCs.
In short, it's not an exaggeration to call it a game changer app. I have it up on a second screen whenever I'm doing ground missions.

I've copied and pasted all those messages into a draft email and saved the links into a folder. That's loads for me to go on for now but already, after going on my first little walk and doing the on-foot training mission, I know that I'm gonna have more questions.
Special thanks to CMDR Sakashiro without whom I never would have even bothered trying. Thanks to CMDR Meowers for the "it's not gonna explode" encouragement. CMDR Glen van Ross for the oh-so-useful advice on engineering and, of course, CMDR Sampi Ogonek who I know for a fact spent a significant amount of their own time typing out that monumental message packed with all that info. You're all brilliant.
So far it's fantastic and really feels like Elite Dangerous 2. The voices go all glitchy when I walk onto a concourse and I've had 1 crash already but I don't care. Walking around my Fleet Carrier after all these years playing the game feels so good that words fail me.
o7 CMDRs.

Faizafor the first time i experienced a bug that actually worked in my favor!
I encountered another bug many times-I bought as much as I could but COVAS didnt said Cargo hold at maximum capacity. Even FSD jumps were planned as without cargo. When I arrived, I opened cargo tab and from nowhere Cargo hold at max capacity. This way I carried Thargoid heart in normal rack without random shutdowns

Bainsey7Wow. I guess I have a lot of on-foot stuff to grind for and I hear it's much worse than ship engineering in terms if how long it takes...
.... it's been a while.
Thanks CMDRs o7
So, any tips for a seasoned Elite pilot beginner on-foot player?
In fact, you can buy almost everything needed. Just go to concourse and find bar. Bartender is also trader. But better are fleet carriers cuz there can be found everything for credits, while normal station/settlement is only limited in range of stuff and also it is only exchange trade

It’s a known fleet carrier cargo bug, if you buy from their market, the cargo is “there”, but not visible in your hold and it acts as if you have none until you open up another commodity market. Some people use this to transport large numbers of corrosive items(more than corrosion resistant holds could) without any drawbacks. Except the potential that if your game crashes or disconnects… you have a ticking bomb sitting in your cargo hold.

It works even with normal stations, not just fleet carriers

In fact, the bug also manifests itself when you sell items at a fleet carrier — the game thinks you still have the cargo until you visit a commodity market again. BTW, it does not have to be another market; simply closing and re-opening the market menu at the FC is enough for the game to ‘catch up’.
I think I have seen this bug occur at a regular station once or twice, but that was long ago and AFAIR appeared to be random, while at FCs it occurs every time.

Walking around my Fleet Carrier after all these years playing the game feels so good that words fail me.This may be not a hardware-related problem, I'm getting glitches and crashes from time to time even on a machine that a) runs that shit on ultra perfectly (in terms of framerate at least); b) doesn't have issues with other demanding games and software. Or at least not entirely a hardware problem.

Engineering less grindy? Doubtful

I don't really see any downsides here. Frontier needs a revenue stream, and if you need need need the new ship you can buy it 3 months ahead of time with Arx. Or you can wait the 3 months until general release and buy it with credits.
They don't say anything about Arx-only engineered modules, so it's not pay-to-win. Just pay-for-impatience. The prebuilt stuff doesn't seem super-useful but I guess it can be if you're a brand new player and don't want to spend a month reading reddit.
