So, lets assume one builds the ship and then what? You just jump into system where the Thargoids are, pick up a mission and go at it as you do with all the other NPC enemies.

how can you hide the owner of a fleet carrier ?

On inara? I presume just by setting the details(a little cog icon in your personal Commander page) to “Nobody”. Or at least one that is not publicly visible/to all players.

AHSo, lets assume one builds the ship and then what? You just jump into system where the Thargoids are, pick up a mission and go at it as you do with all the other NPC enemies.

As for this. Don’t need missions, you can just go to any Thargoid system (around a Titan) and start shooting if you’re inclined that way. Generally Thargoid missions are only offered in the Alert and Invasion states anyway.

If you toggle Thargoid War mode in the galaxy map, alerts are the yellow dots (there’s likely going to only be one), invasions are orange with angry red icons indicating a port under attack, and controls are green(they may also have a purple arrow above them indicating ‘counterstrike’, but that’s a little meaningless for the most part). You’ll only find these around Cocijo now anyway.

… well, probably. There might be some more chaos and carnage elsewhere in the Bubble soon, though I am guessing with that.

Very nice! I'm eager to get behind the stick on this one. Looks like it will result in me not only mothballing my AspX, but also probably my Courier too.

I use the Yaw axis for small adjustments with fixed weapons (Beam lasers), I'm not sure a higher Yaw rate is gonna be useful without the ability to make a curve because the onset is too high, I prefer lower acceleration which makes adjusting aim easier.

AHCheck the scanned bodies layer on edastro.com/galmap before you get too exited about the centre. It has been scanned to shreds.

I think the Bodies Scanned mode includes only systems that have actually been scanned. The vast majority of systems in the central regions of the galaxy have not been scanned at all (because there are just so many of them there).

Most of those systems are out of jump range of most ships, forget exploring this region with a 50 Ly AspX, even my 70+ Ly Phantom got stocked at the end of some line of stars, the carrier did help a lot.

That's the main reason for those regions to be uncharted, Router doesn't work, systems are too far apart and players exploring with Carrier too few.

I said central regions of the galaxy. These are dense as hell, so dense in fact that (apart from the close vicinity of popular destinations like Sgr A* or the Great Annihilator) any random system you pick has almost certainly not been visited by anyone.

Note that if you’re plotting a route from one popular destination to another, you’re most certainly not picking systems at random — you’re flying along a sort of space highway, as it is.

Strange, how this fact seems to escape most some.

The galactic center is so dense with stars that it's never really dark anywhere, even at night. Lots of pictures of it in the gallery to look at, if you don't want to travel there yourself. Example here. And keep in mind, each star you see in the sky is one you can visit. They're not just for show.

At the edge of the galaxy it's the exact opposite, you may occasionally see a lonely star in complete darkness and out of reach, example here.

Around the galactic center, the stars start to be more and more apart from each other, I should know, I was there, those region are huge so you might have the impression that they are dense with stars but for having tried to navigate them I can claim the opposite.

As I said previously, the distance between stars can often be well above the Jump Range of every ship, which is why I had to navigate by hand and use my Carrier, since the router is uncharted.

It's not the number of stars, it's the difficulty of navigating those regions, here are the bookmarks I planted there during my visit...

you’re most certainly not picking systems at random

That's exactly what I've done, totally random and more often dictated by the proximity of the next star in the direction I wanted to go, there's no "popular" highway there..

Ho, I forgot, the number of "excentre" systems increases as well, giving the center the shape of a magnifier, it is thicker at the center and you often can go across one of those "vertical" branches which are dead ends.

Ok, now I LOVE the modified Plasma Chargers against Thargoid Interceptors Made 250mn in one 40min run over our favorite system right now, Laumas. I wasn't aware before that, well, they actually charge when you keep your fire button down. This is really a fun weapon for hunting large bugs. Can highly recommend!

Beautiful summary and examples. Makes me want to make another (or a few) big trip(s) ASAP!

Maybe something is getting lost in translation here with regards to the center, but... "Within a parsec of the galactic center, the estimated number density of stars is about 10 million stars per cubic parsec. By contrast, the number density of stars in the Sun's neighborhood is a puny 0.2 star per cubic parsec."
Ohio State Lecture 31

"The closest star to our sun is about four light-years away; in the center of the galaxy, stars are only 0.4–0.04 light-years apart. In the inner 10,000 light-year region of the Milky Way, the galaxy’s spiral arm structure has broken down and transformed into a “bulge” of stars."
