It is more about to loose a bit the immediate turning everyting red to you by accidental friendly fire onto neutral, like in case of allied ships which just warn you to watch your fire. In a firefight such things happen and I find it unjust that NPCs can destroy your entire shield by accident without any consequence, but if you accidentaly shoot any neutral NPC with just one mistargetted multicannon projectile - the hell breaks loose.

im just argumenting, but agree on most...but we do allready have fines and 9+minutes "lockout" which im fine with.in many ways i feel npc's are cheaters, like allways hitting chaffs on done reload, and having unspeacable amounts of tons of them or similiar, most npc fights goes on waiting till they are done "farting",for realitys sake would holding a torch, change direction on a bullet,it should be called aiming scrambler system since "farting"seems universal for thermal, kinetic or what ever else u throw at them

fighting a npc wing leaves u chasing the valuble "farter"and the unintresting takes ur shield on the back, most cases leaves a system, even if it whants too appear random

I think Frontier should give CMDRs a bigger error gap, like in case of allied ships which tell you "to watch fire", instead of gaining instant bounty and possible HELLO LAWBREAKER BLAM DED.

That's exactly what they're doing. "Friendly fire" will require a larger threshold before it triggers, and it's going to be a fine, not a full on bounty, and fines are a lot lower and can be paid off after a short time. So much the same as happens now tbh.

Detention Centres. When defeated by authorities, CMDRs with bounties will be forced to pay their rebuy costs, fines, and bounties in full; CMDRs with insufficient funds will go bankrupt and be forced to accept a loaned Sidewinder MkI. They will then respawn at a Detention Centre Megaship in a system near where they were defeated. Detention Centres lack Shipyard and Outfitting facilities, and will spawn CMDRs in Solo instances to protect them from spawn-camping until they jump to Supercruise or another system.

Of all upcoming changes, I am pretty cautionous about that one. We are all been there, hitting authority ship by pure accident and getting destroyed. Now imagine a situation in which you are pushed into detention center and pay a lot of money just because that Viper just appeared out of nowhere between your target and your PA.

Oh it's this topic again!

There are no accidents. Only carelessness

I'm delighted with these changes. I think they will give the professional criminal some additional challenge and decision-making (speaking as one, who's played through the beta).

That's right, thresholds will be increased, but it's important that reckless bounty-hunters who are shooting up the police still face the force of the law, and that isn't changing.

I think what everybody is hoping for here is the addition of a Sorry, weapon fire was in error. Standing down button, like the X3 games had. Truth be told, that wouldn't be such a bad idea. However... that doesn't change the fact that you did open fire on an innocent target, be it civilian or law enforcement. My advice is... just be careful. And never, ever, ever open fire on anything unless you have confirmed it's wanted. (today alone i had to watch 2 cmdr's getting blown up because they accidentally opened fire too soon)

I don't see the issue... It's been months since I last shot a friendly (I had a little too much whiskey...) Fighting is not just hold the reticle over the guy and hold the trigger down. If your eyes aren't scanning the whole screen and radar every second or so, you need to work on your situational awareness. Know your target, what's behind it and what's around it.

What about the innocent target that flew right through my type 4 beam laser...

How's that my fault? I had a firing solution so I took the shot, stupid Anaconda got in my way yet I get fined and shot at

I tend to be very aware about the area around the target. Yet we are speaking about this scenario: You rely on "slower" weaponry, like cannons or PA. When the projectile is fired, a neutral (i.e. Powerplay agents) Viper suddenly comes off screen on full speed and is hit by that projectile by pure accident. What happened next is pretty obvious with all these Anacondas and stuff around. That happened to me yesterday, rendering several million bounty vouchers lost - alongside with two hours in RES.

Agreed. I'm really liking most of the changes I've experienced in the beta. The one thing, though, that still seems to be an issue is the lag between confirming the wanted status of a target and you being able to safely engage them. Whether in 2.4 or 3.0, I have run into rare occasions when I didn't wait long enough after them scanning as wanted, opened fire, and got tattooed myself.

Beta 3 gave the Type-7 Transporter class 6 Thrusters, FSD, Power Plant, and Power Distributor, as well as an extra class 2 optional slot I knew I was crazy saving for a Type-7 as my dedicated cargo hauler. Crazy like a fox.

Ha, they changed their minds after too many people raised concerns it would outjump the Asp Explorer and Anaconda. Now it'll go back to class 4 power plant, class 5 FSD, and class 5 thrusters, but it's power distributor is getting upgraded from class 3 to class 4, its hull mass is getting lowered to grant longer jump range, and it's getting the extra class 2 optional slot.

Then you took the shot from too far for the other ships around. How long was it in flight?

Hey everyone just look for more cmmndrs to play on xbox with. mainly someone to grind out combat missions with or general shenanigans. i have a federal corvette and i don't mind flying with new players either.

Lyon, you even try shooting a Viper with cannons or PAs? Believe me, they’re hard to hit even when you’re aiming at ‘em!

It's not like that Viper teleported out of nowhere - it's there on your scanner, you know that it's around. I regularly fly in CZ's, where there are a lot more ships in the instance and I can honestly say that I don't have this problem, neither do the Inara users I fly with. You watch the scanner, you use your senses (the sound in the game is brilliant, you can hear other ships around you with headphones), and you keep your fire in short, controlled bursts. Ultimately, it's down to you.

Again, that's down to you. Easier to solve though - just try patience
