Hahahha love it. Games big af and definately need to ask for help, like me ... right now.  

So I'm in Colonia. Yeah yeah I know . I heard some juicy tid bits of rumors something like a "dark secret" around some form of gap involving large hexagonal ships that block out the sun!

I think he means Hawking's Gap. But if you're coming from Colonia, the Conflux is closer.

Yes, there are secret planetside bases left over from the Dynasty Expedition of the 3270s in the Gap, the Conflux, and the Formidine Rift. Yes, it's old news - but worth a visit nonetheless.

Nope. Cool your jets Blokeh, no need to come out swinging. I simply thought I saw there was some uncertainty and assisted in making it less so.


Thanks for the info- the one thing about this game I've learned the hard way is that the tutorials and in-game help are incredibly lacking. It can make for a frustrating process in learning to do more than just taking off, shooting things, and landing.

If I recall correctly, you want to make sure you pack extra fuel. Stars are sparse in some of those regions.

As for what's been found, I'm afraid I don't know. Never been to those regions of space. Isaiah is probably more knowledgeable. He has a deeper working understanding of Elite Lore and history.

You can change your route setting to only have certain types of stars (fuel stars). In doing this almost every jump will be a fuel star. But then again if people knew how to do this the rats would be out of a job, unless your the type trying to make a 10+ jump with no scoop.

remember to take some thargoid sensors and probes out ahead of chapter 2 just in case u find raxxla

You'll want to be able to make some long jumps if you go to the Rift. Even in my 55 LY DBX, I had to do some creative pathfinding in some places. Conflux and the Gap are easy to travel though.

Be sure to check out the Zurara if you go to the Rift. Some very intriguing things in that ship.
