You know, it's a truly awesome ship in the proper sense of the word but when the cycle completes, you're only going to wind up back in an engineered Sidewinder, baiting FDLs for fun. Trust me, I know.

Ds2001sAnyone got any advice on rank grinding for the fed navy?
If you have the time, I suggest the trip between Fairbairn Enterprise in the 63 Geminorum System and Whitson Platform or Birkeland Dock in the BD+27 1356 System - most of the profitable trips are heading into Fairbairn Enterprise - it's a grind. You can take 20 missions of data on your computer. There are many paying 848,088 credits at a time, and I have also picked up Economy Passengers paying between 2M up to 10M credits for the trip into Fairbairn Enterprise. A recent spout of eight interdictions cost me 35M in lost passenger revenue, but you keep the data on your computer. Bear in mind, with interdiction there will be the replacement ship costs if you can't compete with an NPC flying an Anaconda. However, my average payout has been 22M credits per trip into Fairbairn Enterprise and 250k into Whitson Platform. The more trips you do the quicker your reputation improves, rising quickly to Allied 100% score. Your rank with the Federation also improves with each trip, boosted by the Federal Navy Missions that will appear. Very quickly went from Ensign with 48M credits to Admiral with 988M credits.

Even if you didn't intend to yank my chain, consider it yanked.
My Corvette is my favourite ship, followed closely by the FDL, I did my time in the Fed Navy. cough The twitching is only temporary or so they tell me. My ship can do many things but it took nearly 1 Billion Credits to outfit it just right. As for an engineered sidewinder baiting FDL's, well I have better things to do with my time.

Op4daveI made my first kill yesterday. I was having problems changing my power distribution until I got the Voice attack mod. I no longer have to worry about blind typing while in VR. Just say Red Alert and power goes to my weapons and shields. The more I play the cooler this game gets.
Voice Attack, coupled with your choice of HCS Voicepack, is the best thing for VR pilots. I find it hard to jump in the cockpit without Eden to respond to my commands. Before long, you'll be tweaking some of your VA settings to enhance your play. But Voice Attack is indispensable for VR flying, no doubt!

also engineer Lei Cheung require i utilise 50 markets, is this the Black markets or any market? I have bought and sold at a few now for no change from the 9/50 I had already done

I have no problem doing a few trips however I don't seem to be able to gain access to his facility to drop said items off. Anyone had this issue and know how to over come this problem? You must first gain Reputation with Party of Yoru to gain the invitation to visit him, You should gain said invitation at Friendly reputation.
Basically doing missions for Party of Yoru would be the easiest way choosing the Reputation reward.
Normal Markets for Lei Cheung.
The Engineers section of Inara also has most of this information when you select each engineer.

Thanks CMDR for your prompt response, I have achieved friendly with the Party of Yoru however even thoigh it specifically says to hand in the 25 Xihe items I still cannot land at his base it says I am trespassing. Not sure what's happening there it's got me stumped. Spent about 3 hrs flying out and In system logging on and off but nothing seems to work.
I had a look in the Engineers section but wasn't sure if it was specific to a "Market" type, I will just keep buying and selling and hopefully it updates on the relevant engineers panel.

Once you receive the Invitation you may need to relog for access to be updated, sometimes these things are fickle.
They must be different Markets not just between two stations as far as I am aware.

What ship were you using for this? I've jumped a few ranks in a day doing the Sothis method by my credit gain was lacklustre. I need the credit boost!
