That's what I was concerned about! But, to be honest, I have been interdicted on the odd occasion but the classic 'submit, maximum pips to systems, boost, turn, boost, FSD Hi-Wake' has worked, well enough. Situational awareness is key, and that adds to the excitement and immersiveness of the game. When that doesn't work you end up in re-buy, and that hurts....pride more than anything...but you learn!

Lau SotangI tried to fly in Open but never could find it fun due to one thing. Too many random griefers ready to murder small-ship players because they can and can afford the rebuy upon destruction. I mean, there are terrorists and I get it! But I would mind less, if they at least announced the reason why they are attacking (e.g. "For Torval!" "Death To Imperials!", etc.)

Maybe it was just me being very utterly unlucky, though.

It's quite annoying when you just want to fly around in your own slow pace, earning around 500k-700k per hour, minding your business.

If there was some kind of bonus to fly in Open Mode, like +30% credits boost to wage out risks - I'd try something else than Solo and PG.

How many griefers have you encountered? I haven't been interdicted once in my three years of playing by another player, even in CGs, Engineer Systems, or anything.

Around seven times, especially during making CG rolling around Bounty Hunting. They usually flew the Engineered ships, let's add that one.

I've been playing for over three years, and have been attacked & destroyed by other players a total of three times. Having said that, I tend to stay clear of CG's.

Same here. Never been interdicted by another player, except that one time, but I was asking for it. I was doing the piracy thing pulling people in a cg and having them jettison 25% of their cargo and a white knight got me. I didn't run, I fought and paid the price. But that's how the cookie crumbles when you engage in that kind of play.

I have to say, I agree with the fact that we at Red Star Line have seen MANY griefers attack our members during CGs. We allways schedule our runs with escorts to keep the cargo runs safe in [OP]

Hi all,

I haven't really delved into engineering yet but want to give it a shot when I'm in my Vet, I'm currently in Sothis grinding fed rank and credits, assess up to around 150mil atm so I'm getting there.

What should I go for first with the engineering and should I do it in myppython now or wait until I get the vet built?

ELvira Martuuk, Felicity Farseer, Professor Palin. FSD upgrades are very nice to have starting out; it really opens up the galaxy for you. Start the mining grind early for Selene Jean, as well. Your sanity will thank you for it.

Jack DekerdtIf you want that 'immersive' multi-crew feel in SOLO, and you have not already checked it out, take a look at Voice Packs. You can create a crew, give orders, and they will carry them out.

Too cumbersome for my taste. I can initiate commands much faster with my HOTAS than by speaking to VA, waiting for the command to be understood, then speaking the next.

I guess everyone is different. I have a HOTAS but I absolutely rely on VoiceAttack + Eden, particularly when bounty hunting. I can be barking a command to her at the same time I'm in a furball with a bounty, configuring / firing. Sure, If a HOTAS had ENOUGH easily accessible buttons to activate everything (without needing combinations of buttons), I'd agree with you. But having Eden onboard has rescued my bacon more than once, while both hands (and my head, in VR) were quite busy. So, if you're not running VR, not having an AI on the ship is fine. But in VR, loading up an AI is just crucial for me.

Silver Taffer is right. Watch your radar for A) live players and B) where they position themselves relative to your ship....best indication of their intent. ALWAYS have another system highlighted in the Nav Panel, since you don't get mass-locked.

Yup, that's what I did. Well, I'm not looking to get Selene's help, but with a primary role as an explorer, Elvira, Felicity and Palin are definite musts. I just finished engineering my Anaconda--which will be my long distance explorer-- and I'm almost done with my Chieftain. After that, I'm heading back to Colonia Dream (I'll send for my Chieftain once I get back).

Mining 500T is not that bad with the right equipment and location, but it's pretty easy for it to fall to a horrible rate with lesser equipment. I take it you don't want to do armor for the Chieftain, then?

The heavy-duty modification to lightweight armor adds no weight, it's a must for any explorer.
