GreenInferno7Hey guys, I'm very new to the game and I honestly have no idea where I should begin or whats the best way to get started on my adventures. I have the Horizons DLC and I'm interested in planetary missions, but I have no idea how to outfit my ship, or what kind of things I should be doing to make credits and advance in the game.
I'd suggest watching a couple of excellent Youtuber's ObsidianAnt, Cmdr Exigeous, and of course, the Yamiks. The last one is 10/10 humor, but I've still learnt a lot from him. ObsidianAnt's New Player Survival Guide is excellent.
Best bet is to pick a form of the game you like (trading, exploring, fighting) and do that until you feel that you want to grow and do other things. I know I'll never bother with combat, but I want to be sufficiently good at it to fend for myself in open. I'm well on my way to Elite in trading and exploring.
Personally, I traded until I could afford a decent exploration ship (FSD range is everything), and then I opened up Farseer engineering to make that even more so, mined a bit to find the things I needed and engineered the heck out of the exploration ship. I then did a 1200 jump mission to the Neutron twins, near Colonia, and just doing that got me ~ 100 million credits over nearly 3 weeks, about 4-5 hours play each day. My commander's name is all over that part of the galaxy.

GreenInferno 7. You've started on a long journey.
You'll make mistakes.
Some of them, you'll slap yourself for.
You'll get killed loads of times.
But you will see the best simulation of the wonders of the universe that it's possible to see.
For me, on start up I found that exploration was the most rewarding and indeed the cheapest of starts. And it is surprising how quickly you rack up exploration rank and indeed cash.
For that a hauler, properly outfitted. (See the famous Obsid Ant videos) will give you almost 30ly of jump. Very respectable for the price.

If you have some time I suggest you do some trading wing missions. Then buy an ASP and go for the road to riches. If you want to survive you also have to do a little bounty hunting to (im) proove your fighting skills.
This is a Wonder full journey. Welcome aboard.

Elite Dangerous is a game where you're given a ship, a galaxy to play in and nothing more. Like life, there is no road map, no one forcing you to do things their way. You have to figure out your own goals and how to reach them. Joining a community is a great help with that!

There's some great ideas around improving communications and relaying information for BgS groups, something which Loren's Legion is happy to get behind.

Cmdr Demon Lord Nox whipped up false accusations for “combat logging” and doing “BGS for opposing faction” which were both false and without any proof. Not to mention accusing me of stealing someone else’s photo of Dav’s Hope and putting me unnecessarily on a “Kill on sight” list.
What in the HELL is wrong with this guy?

I Personally Seen you Combat Log before i got the report of you logging so why would i want you in my faction?
