Easy_IliHi,
I'm pretty new to Elite and i was wodering what's the best way to get more credits in the start???

Pick a system, get allied with all the factions there, mission rewards will increase. Also, if you have horizons, see if you can find someone to fly a fighter for in a CZ or bounty hunting.

Wait... Is Selene Jean only 10T of Painite? I decided to finally get around to her yesterday and today, but for some reason I thought it was 50T of Painite and spent a while focusing on that while getting my other 500T refined. Gosh I'm dumb.

So that leaves you 40T of painite to sell at best, that ain’t dumb, and it ain’t chicken-feed neither!

I've been spending the last 2 weeks prepping the controlling faction of system A for expansion into system B. On the third day of the expansion, I noticed the same faction, which was also present in system C, was 5% influence under the controlling faction and 2% above the third place faction in that system. So I did a round of missions and dumped some exploration data at a station my faction controlled there to prevent a war blocking the expansion to system B. The next day, my faction had begun the 3 day prep for war with the controlling faction of system C while continuing with the expansion to system B. I thought for sure I just screwed myself out of the expansion, with all those missions done, all that expansion data dumped. Until today's tick, where I found that the expansion to system C completed successfully, and war had begun to take control of system B with my faction starting at a 7.4% lead, in the same day.

So if anyone asks, I did that on purpose.

Yes you can, if you know how. The AEDC flipped Ross 128 over to the Alliance last year, only 11 light years from the capital of the Federation. It is and continues to be Elite Dangerous's funniest sight gag.

Easy_IliHi,
I'm pretty new to Elite and i was wodering what's the best way to get more credits in the start???

I assume you're in a Sidey, which means you will get your arse kicked regularly by better ships and players. My advice:
Stay in Solo play
Trade, trade, trade - you cannot defend yourself out there without better weapons and protective gear.
Trade approach at the beginning: Pick just two trading stations - very short hops are needed - esp as you exit hyperspace at a star, which is where they lie in wait. Distance to the nearest station should be short as poss because that are is also where you will be attacked by pirates. Build up some cash, then upgrade your cargo rack asap, then move to a larger ship, eg Cobra Mk3 and then a Hauler. Keep doing all this trading stuff for weeks or even months. Upgrade your defenses and weaponry as you go along.

Come back and tell us how you got on and we'll lend you some more secrets later on.

I disagree with "stay in Solo." A lot of people start off in open and turn out fine. Open is not the wretched hive of scum and villainy that people keep preaching. Sure, there's people out there who are determined to ruin your day, but you're more likely to run into people who wave as you cruise buy.

Obviously if you want to hang in Solo, I don't care, but let's not act like flying in Open is a death wish. It's not.

I also disagree with "trade, trade, trade," (unless that's actually what you want to do of course). Instead, experiment, experiment, experiment. Go out there, learn your surroundings, try new things, shoot some badmans if you want. If you get killed, it's okay - it's a learning experience. Pay your rebuy and come out of it better off, ready to kick arse. Shoot back or learn evasive tactics, whatever gets you home safely. The whole "avoid anything that could be even slightly dangerous and hop only between two stations" attitude from above is just silly. You don't learn by hiding in safe zones.

That is how my experience was from day one to now, and I've had a blast doing it.

P.S: Don't underestimate the Sidewinder either...

why avoid challenges? it's the best way to learn and develop...and there is more than trade...let him smell at the different facets of the game, instead of rushing through...any stage is a rich experience...and there are enough that like to gank in a Sidey, so don't dismiss it...
