Hello everyone. I'm currently interested in joining an xbox wing. However I will say I'm picky about how the wing/clan works so if you feel you interested in picking up a veteran player who plays E:D and only E:D shoot me a message with details about your wing.

CatInTheBrainhello everyone, I just started out and I've been doing more trading than combat since I don't have any wings to do combat with. I have a Type-6 Transporter .Looking for a wing that likes to do trading also a bit of combat. I'm on PS4

Welcome Cath!

There is a whole forum dedicated to Wings who present themselfs...take your pick over there !

HYS needs to show the straight 50% reduction in damage. This has been in since 3.0 apparently, but I just found it when looking at HYS special.

Hey, I’m trying to lower a factions influence so I can raise my own- if I attack their authority ships, that will lower their influence and cause a lockdown right? Does starting a lockdown “lockdown” the entire station? So that I won’t even be able to get my own faction’s missions? Or will I still be able to do missions for my faction?
At the same time I’m doing this, I’m going to try and start trading to cause a boom for my faction as well, but I don’t know if What was previously mention will outrule that?

If you put a faction into lock down, it will lock down all owned assets for that faction across all their systems. That means, if a station is owned by the faction you've put into lock down, you will not be able access any missions from there, regardless of who issues them.

Best thing would be to rep up with your chosen faction and run missions for them, concentrating on Influence values (I+++ or higher). Once they are in a boom state cargo missions with ‘boom delivery’ in the title count double for Inf. As you progress your faction will ‘steal’ Inf from the others. The higher the Population, the longer it will take if you are acting alone.  More traffic through the system complicates things as well. Bounty hunting will raise influence for the controlling faction of the station you turn the bounties into.

Hope this helps 07

PS Another thing- conflict states like war or election over-rides all other states for the duration. War locks Influence for the Factions involved in all systems they have a presence in, with only combat bonds having any effect. Elections can be decided on missions.

"War locks influence" altho a common saying and technically accurate gives a slightly inaccurate impression about what happens. Running combat bonds for the factions in question will trade influence between them, but they can still gain (or, far more likely) lose influence as other factions lose or gain.

My apologies, Phelbore is right. I was over-simplifying the situation. The Factons at war can only increase their own Influence by combat bonds, whereas other factions can increase theirs as usual. Good news if the other faction goes to war when yours is in a boom state! Ideal opportunity to increase Influence at their expense.

I certainly wasn't trying to imply you were wrong. I had been told exactly what you said and was very confused recently when I saw both warring factions drop (granted, it was less than a percent each). I had just put them both into war so I could increase someone else without hurting them. It didn't work

Both MF dropping indicates no Player activity for either side in the CZ. When continuing to work for any other MF in the System they should drop on, provided they're left alone.

As usual the population density plays a major role on how much / little the % changes are.

Thank you for clarifying! That rules out me since there’s only one station.

And thank y’all for also clarifying and adding.
I knew about the population being a feature, it only makes sense that it should take awhile to affect millions of people, which is why I’m happy with my five million populated system! This week I successfully won a civil war with my faction, and reduced the enemy factions influence basically to zero. However, I did not know about bounty hunting only affecting the station’s faction owner. That was probably why it wasn’t working for me in the beginning. With lockdown out of question, I guess that means I’ll have to “boom” my way into becoming an influencing force.
...
I’m guessing I’ll need help with the impending war that I’ll need to win so I can capture command of the station. Are there any of those BGS role playing groups here that help with that kind of stuff? You know like, they’ll lend a hand for you if you promise to repay their favor or something?

Help in a combat zone is optimal, although you can work alone. They are tougher than RES and some hull tanking is a good idea.
The way I understand it the best way to affect the war is to drop into the CZ, select your faction, kill one enemy ship, turn in the combat bond, then rinse and repeat up to 10 times.
There has been some dispute over this so if I have that wrong hopefully someone will put us both straight?

Wow, that’s sounds kind’of exploity..! : O
Not that I should be saying anything, or acting like a saint.. Not with my track record.
