I did two missions yesterday but can't get paid. Only 36 million ticket put in now waiting.

I totally agree with you .... most players don't just kill you on sight for nothing started in open and i had no problems yet .... and on the contrary there were a lot of people helping me already and I was also able to gather up with People on my lvl to fullfill lower wing missions and sutff .... tbh it was way more fun than just flying around cargoing stuf from A to B
I concur. I just logged Open Mode first time for a longer time today and got killed two-three times by Wanted players. I'm PVE, not PVP player - that's why I stick to the Private Groups - Solo rarely.
Maybe I'm just very unlucky when it comes to Open.

Can you tell us more about that? Where were you? What was going on? Might help come up with a survival plan.

All depends where you're in the game. Starter Systems, CGs and locations of FD Livestreams are where you will find ill-willed folk.
I fly exclusively in Open (assuming I don't forget to switch back after checking through instances for missions). Last time I was vaporized was by a NPC because I left the game running and moved from the computer. That was at least a year ago.

well i guess u might have had some valuable cargo with you ….. or maybe some bounty on your own had …. no idea still haven't got attacked by players yet …
there is no reason to if you got nothing on board or what ever you know?
but besides that -.- i got killed by a group of npc terrorists and had not enough money to pay my insurance -.- is my ship lost now???

there are dedicated wings, who can help you, and even escort you. Open is just so much more interactive, but hey, if you love the tranquility of solo....
And yes, ship's lost, but that's the adrenaline of the game!

Stay in a System or area of Systems. Build up your REP with them, resulting in vastly better payouts. Pretty much all there is to it.

Well, I wouldn't whine if I was a) hauling cargo b) not after CMDR reset. But still - I have a Novice rank and it was just a Viper Mk IV with C modules...
Truth is, I realized now Fousang is the CG. So blame goes on me.

well there are systems which have immense payouts sometimes not sure if staying in one system leads to victory …. for example i had a system yesterday which offered 50kk to get and deliver 90 imperial slaves …..
