Any one else super disappointed about the gnosis jump

Think it would hav been better if we were attacked in the cone then the community goal could have been survie the cone for a month to escape

The important thing is that the emergent gameplay has provided some spectacular and nerve wracking experiences for all concerned, and has furthered the story of our interaction with the Thargoids. The fact that things did not go as some might have expected is not a fault of the game, or of FDev, or of anyone else.

Yolanta Bonita Riveiros PurpuraNo, I am not disappointed with the Gnosis events in the slightest. The only negative aspect was the premature leak of the Galnet article, which told commanders on the Gnosis what to expect when the patch went live. FDev have apologised for this error. It was unfortunate, but mistakes do happen.

I’m with you. I’m loving the new story and action. Putting dangerous back in elite

On the contrary, it pleases me.
From a story perspective, it's nice to see things go "wrong."

Lyon DeLacyKudos to all Zavijah participants in the last hours of its respective Community Goals. I've seen guys dropping their CG and running to help impacted station. It's the very first time I saw such a thing in-game and it was a truly terrifying experience running my Hauler within burning station in order to secure all these souls.
Hauler? You're one brave man mate.

Our mission has taken a tragic turn for the worse. As The Gnosis embarked for the Cone Sector it was ambushed by Thargoid forces. Loren’s Legion pilots sortied immediately assisting the defense effort of the Gnosis.
Commander Stannis Jellicoe, Captain of the LRV Resolution, was able to file this report.
I was awakened by the ship crashing out of hyper-space. Before I was even dressed I could hear the unmistakable sounds of Thargoid weapon fire and the scream-like sound of their ships. People are saying pilots saved us by luring them away with meta-alloys. I didn't see anything like that, but I did see pilots frantically try to scramble their ships only to die on their pads. I got my ship spaceborne and have been in action most of the day.
It's hard going out there, they just keep coming, but there's thousands of people aboard that ship and I'm not running.
We call upon all able Commanders to assist in saving this stricken vessel.

Phisto SobaniiLoren's Legion Calls for Aid to Defend Gnosis. [...]
As I do recall, Darwin of the Cannon Research Group made an announcement that the Gnosis was going to make a jump, despite all the warnings, into Thargoid infested space anyway. Was that not planned for? Doesn't the Gnosis have some 11,000+ commanders on board? Surely that could make one hell of a task force to reckon with given that you all were heading off into dangerous territory to begin with.

Phisto SobaniiWe certainly planned for it and I'm happy to report many other Commanders did as well. There is an impressive force standing between the Gnosis and the Thargoids.
Excellent. It's good to know that despite the catastrophe that has befallen the Gnosis, there are good commanders there to aid it and defend it.

Alex OrileyI hate when you sit down for what should have been an Epic flight of 359 jumps only to find out after 40 minutes of play that the server will be going down for an update.... Hope this update, which is scheduled to take roughly forty minutes, is on target because I would really like it make it to Ogmar by tomorrow morning and in one piece.
Finally made it to Ogmar. What an Epic trip. Exploration of some of the systems was amazing! There were some magical planets out there in Deep Space. Only 291 jumps to Sagittarius A* and more exploration. Going to have to read some other explorers blogs on the top twenty places to see up in this area of space. Not looking forward to the long haul back to Rhea but I am sure that it will be interesting as well!

If you are headed for Sag A* you could also look up the Great Annihilator, another supermassive black hole not too far away from there 07
