Bjorn GudmundsonBe sure to get plenty of scanning in now before FDev changes the whole thing and turns it into a huge grind in a few months.
How are the proposed changes a "huge grind"?

Having to "tune in" each body in a system in order to discover it? Unless I'm quite misunderstanding. Sounds like quite the time sink to me.
And I don't think these are proposed changes. I'm pretty sure it's at the "we're doing this" stage, it's just a matter of when.

Sounds like it will take a little bit of activity and skill to discover stuff. Far preferable to the holding a button for a few secs "gameplay" we currently have for exploration.
I understand that activity and skill aren't to everyone's tastes, and that's ok.
Yes, you are most certainly right about it being a done thing, with some refinements coming from the beta. Looking forward to it

I'm interested in seeing the changes, even if my poor old befuddled brain has to get a little exercise
Just doing a bit more of the CG then heading off to Colonia, just because I can...

Oh, I'll be curious to try it for myself, and I can understand the argument that exploration and discovery are perhaps a bit too easy now. However I've got a feeling that with these changes it's going to end up as tedious as mining. I hope I'm wrong.

RatkatcherMy take on the new exploration changes is that they may actually save time in the long run, unless I've misunderstood what has already been intimated (quite possible...) the 500+ kLs jaunts out to planets of interest may be a thing of the past with probes.
I believe you will still have to fly out to within a certain distance of the planet to launch a probe.

Palin and ram tah are the alian civilisation experts.
Looking at the materials that can be collected (wake , ship scans, bio samples technology components etc) from thargoid /guardian bases ships beacons structures.
We will see a human guardian hybrid ship a thargoid guardian hybrid or even a combined hybrid. of all 3 races.
What i conclude of guardian tech is they produce a lot of heat compared to our ships and even greater against thargoid tech. which is low heat.
This huge heat difference might explain why thargoid enzymes are less effective against guardian hull reinforcments.
The way the guardian hull module and shield reinforcement are presented it also shows the the strengh and weaknesses of the guardian tech armour.
And no resistance increase of kinetic and explosive weaponry and stronger agains thermal atacks. their shields are just raw strengh with out any resistance protection.
Which is understandable as what we have seen from guardian weaponry they use heat and plasma based weaponry and when fighting each other they would protect against these weapons.
The same for the thargoids verry resiliant against chemical warfare, and prolonged damagage mounting , but weak against biological warfare and kinetic thermals damage.
Which lead to the main weaknes of the thargoids and that is that there is a gap between the regeneration of the damage done by the hearts ,and the hearts them self .
A quick overwhelming salvo of shard cannons 7x5x104 = 3500 hull strengh in 2 to 3 seconds does so much damage that the hearts cant react.
This also explains why there is a limmit of 4 experimentals on your ship.
Which doesnt make sence if you are at war you want to fit your ships with all the weapons you need. and why are you able to buy as many as you want to out fit for each ship you got.
So there is no shortage of these weapons.
Condas corvettes cutters and even T10s could whipe out a thargoid in one barage.
The smaller ships would have a little more dificulty but would be devastating non the less.

asp-x comes in, no problem, he goes around me, i'm not in the direct flight lane and even on the departure side.
clipper comes in, points directly at me turns sideways slightly, lowers landing gear... and at this point, he's maybe 300m away, probably less.
I'm like, FFFFFFFFFFFF-!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hit my maneuvering jets to move downward and out of the way while rolling myself so his wing doesn't tear my cockpit off and the rest of me in half.
why do they always gotta fly straight at you, haha!
I know the damage wouldn't be that bad in game, however if it were real life, that guy woulda got a yelling at from the tower. haha!!

Bonio1966How do you, commanders set your control bindings? I am trying to set my camera views to work like it use to but I can't figure it out! I know it lame but I would like to know what others have done.
Thanks
P.S. Sorry about the spelling I am dyslexic and relay on the spellchecker. There also may be some homophones.
By "camera views", are you talking about the "vanity camera", where you can see different interior and exterior angles? I use the CTRL+ALT+SPACE to activate it. I use "V" to go into free view. I'm running a Thrustmaster HOTAS X joystick, so when I'm in the vanity camera mode the lateral thruster rocker moves me laterally, the up-thrush and down-thrust buttons move me up and down the X-axis and then the hat button moves me in or out. Twisting the joystick rotates my view horizontally.
