A newboid question please.

If I submit to an interdiction I realise that I come out steady and in good shape with no damage and a short FSD charge up. But what happens to the nasty person trying to kill me? Do they get hull damage etc or are they in the same state as me?

They should come out the same as you as they have won the interdiction against you, although you submitted, they will appear behind you at full strength.

WilliamReaceI'm not shooting my limpets, they just get 1 fragment and then expire immediately after dropping it off...

That's what happens if you have the scooping target actually selected as target instead of letting the limpets roam. Incredibly stupid mechanic. IMO the limpet should go back to idle mode or start collecting whatever else is around after bringing in the selected piece with priority.

oh, so it's a programmed mechanic....
I only want this single fragment piece and not all the rest of those bits laying out there, so it's only 101 credits per limpet and it just means I don't have to hoover the rest of the stuff.  HAHA!

I'll be making sure to never target any fragments anymore with them out.

Limpets can also smash into the asteroid you are mining, or the one behind you. I'm usually a lot closer in planetary rings than in asteroid belts, and I think the ones in rings rotate faster.

You can target fragments when the limpets are out with no problem. Launching a limpet with a fragment/canister targeted says "Just get me that one."

You can ignore the minerals you want to collect when a fragment is targeted. It will remember it until you target a fragment and then un-ignore it. Also for canisters.

From my log
CREW
CREW CREDITS EARNED 73,636,671 Cr
CREW HIRED 7

I have only used a fighter and crew less than ten times, I noticed that my credits were not going up as fast as they should, so I checked and found that they have been robbing me, so as far as I know, I have sacked them all.

Is there any that can be hiding somewhere that I don't know, I don't even fit a Fighter Hanger.

Crew, even when inactive, will continue to take their cut of the profits. This means you can keep a crew you trained up from harmless to elite on retainer for those times you need them, it can be quite handy if you run with a fighter bay often. If not, best to fire them.

XenizI believe William was talking about landing on orbital stations or objects in space and driving an SRV on them, not planetary installations.

Phelbore It also moves much faster, making it useful for piracy.

Haha! very good point...
For swoop and grab black box salvaging too, I would guess.

Had more than one of those spawn a 3 flight ambush on me, i was already burning out with my cargo, but even so.

I don't believe you can launch your SRV in space.

I believe the planetary landing suite needs to be engaged for the SRV to be available to deploy, some commanders have found planets with mountains high enough to reach above where the SRV can no longer traverse, I heard these were later fixed, you can however land your SRV on another commanders ship and see how high you can go before you reach maximum altitude.

I actually challenged a couple of commanders I know, one with an SRV who landed on the others T-10, I challenged them to have the SRV launch straight up and have the T-10 rotate and then have the SRV land on the inverted T-10, it ended badly, but it was very funny.

You can't launch an SRV in space, but you can (in a very specific place) launch it INTO space.

This video shows a very odd mountain that famously pokes above drop level into orbital cruise level. This is the mountain where Fuel Rats helped push a guy down from orbital cruise with their ships after he went too far up.

I haven't tried this myself and really hope that FDev hasn't done anything to change the mountain. It is/was unique.

My understanding is that the interdictor 'tumbles' out of supercruise and takes minor module damage and long FSD cool-down which is why submission gives the interdicted Cmdr a slight advantage to make a get-away.
Can anyone confirm this? 07

Did you manage to see what combat rating the ships were? Big ships do not always mean better ability.
Apart from the ships you mention, were there any other vessels in the same area? You may have had help available from another ship, maybe a system security patrol. Not all the ships you encounter will be hostile to you.
